Good morning Fabbers friends and forumites.

Good gravy this item was on the news this morning.48% of people buy vinyl records and never play them.

I love my music in all formats .

So please play your vinyl its just so spiffing . Pooch has his classical collection and I have the best of Bucks Fizz

I play mine regularly. ..all except the 5 signed ones on my wall (have all in different formats though)

People just want a hard copy of their favourite album, and it's mostly young people who buy them

I still have hundreds of my original 70s ones; ( and new ones) the analogue sound is much better ;( especially for classical music; digital clips off too many of the harmonics) but on a daily basis I listen to the digital versions as I don't want to wear out the vinyl ones;

The vinyl sound is reserved for special occasions .

I hqve about 70 records they dont all get played very often. But i try and have a record night once a week

a decent deck with adjustable ride hide, weight balance, anti-skate etc won't wear your vinyl out .... unless the vinyl is cheap thin 120grm stuff.

I digitised my vinyl long ago.Now a classic collection of vinyl gathers dust in the attic.

I could never bring myself to sell it though.

. I have all the top end stuff; but still don't see the point in always playing them when I have them all digitized; so they are played when I have the time and opportunity to sit and listen properly.

Meanwhile I can search the whole collection digitally and broadcast it anywhere in the house remotely for daily use.

I've got crates of vinyl and it all gets played , recently got a new record player. I'd forgotten how good vinyl sounds!

If I buy a limited release on RSD, it won't get played. I'd buy a normal one for listening to.

indeed, myself also,

I have a good few miss presses too, for example 999 on one side / Buzzcocks on other, have a lot of picture discs, coloured vinyl and ofcourse classics like stranglers - peaches/go buddy go; pistols Anarchy; god save the queen etc and as years go on, a wide variety

I've just been chastised for opening a new thread on the vinyl subject so thought I'd post on here too.

A digitised copy is like a fine wine drank alone . Much better consumed with friends ......that's vinyl .

Just an opinion of course .

I can listen to mine anywhere in my house by turning it up , lol , and the neighbors can listen for free

I have bought vinyl and not played it purely cause of the rareity of the said vinyl, I do play a lot of vinyl though cause it's sound is far more superior to digital.

I have a few signed lps too. They all get a regular airing , I too have music nights Vara ,

Still play my cds and downloads. My I pod is a treasured possession.

I like the way lots of new LPs offer a free digital download too so I can pop.them on the pod when I am out and vinyl when I am home

Still got my Technics linear tracking turntable I bought back in the 80's. Stood the test of time well only needing one new stylus in 31 years. Love lazy afternoons listening to my Clash albums, vinyl is so atmospheric compared to the sterility of a download.

I buy hip hop vinyl and never play them because they are worth more sealed, and i get the cd or digital copy anyway.

I find it frustrating when there are great release for RSD that sells out instantly, only to find them on ebay later the same day.....
