Leeds United employee Lucy Ward wins sex discrimination case.

Ms Ward said she was told by Mr Cooper that Mr Cellino had said to him: "Football is no place for women, they should be in the bedroom or the beauticians."

The fact that the women's national football team does a lot better than the men's should show the lie of that, but is it true that women are only good for sex and looking pretty? If so, I'm screwed, and not in a good way.

Of course it's not true and I'm not sure even the dinosaurs saying such nonsense actually believe it.

Cellino is a clown known for demanding attention and he seems to adore being the bad guy. I suspect this is another of his tantrums.

It is irritating me that the BBC are reporting on what Kate ( of Kate and Will ) is wearing.

Every fucking 'costume' change is detailed down to the handbag...

Wills spoke on contracts, oil and really hard stuff...... Kate wowed everyone in nice Temperley top and skirt.......

Makes my fucking blood boil.

correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't peg you as a football fan OP?

also you have to realise there will always be people in higher up positions from anything ranging from sport to anything else who would have attitudes like this..

it's the harsh truth off reality i'm afraid these things happen and attitudes like that won't change however as time goes by laws have changed for the better.

life is unfair that way but the only silver lining realistically is that the woman won her case against the man who made those remarks.

When the (then) President of FIFA suggests that the way to increase the appeal of women's football is to make them wear hot pants you know that there's a long way to go for equality in the game

The woman's football team much like Rugby are completely incomparable to the men's games. In affect with Rugby I'd say womens Rugby is a different sport.

I think pay parity in Tennis is also unfair. Men play more Tennis - more sets. The should be paid more.

Cellino is a fool and does not represent the majority opinion. There have been a fair number of attempts to remove him from the club already.

I'm sure this thread will attract a fair amount of Knights in shining armour,but let's face it,the comments aren't exclusive to dinosaurs of the working class mens clubs.

If a group has their equilibrium upset by change they feel uncomfortable and seek to put down the new I believe.

Women are changing many aspects of modern day society. Female pilots can withstand greater g forces, in conflict scenarios they're more likely to defuse the situation and the diverse list continues.

This simply illustrates that change can take a long time and even then not everyone can be open minded.
