Do people still use it ? Doesn't seem to be as common in the shops as it used to be. Was there a health risk associated to slapping it all over ?

Used as something to put on after a bath etc for adults and babies.

Also as an erotic massage alternative to body oil.

Talc is linked to cancer. There's better options now, it seems silly to carry on using it.

There are reported links to cancer.

The family of a woman who died from ovarian cancer in the USA, have just received a payout of millions from Johnson &Johnson.

There are 1700 cases still pending.

Talcum power in the USA had small levels of asbestos in it until the 70s. Didn't mention the UK...

I don't know anyone who uses it, although older people in the olden days - before last year - did see to have its fragrance about them. I knew of the potential cancer link and didn't fancy breathing it into my lungs.

But there are tons of powders available. They are just not called talc

Talc was said to be carcogenic but most of the stuff you get now is 'body powder' and is talc free.

If unsure look at the ingredients x

You may get away with sprinkling it down the gaps over the joist.

If that doesn't work you may have to lift the offending floorboards and then sprinkle on the joists.

A tradesman may know of an easier way...
