MrsMac's caffeine whack

So today I felt like utter crap. Lethargic, headachey and had sore eyes. Unusually I couldn't credit a hangover.

I realised it was all down not drinking my usual gallons of coffee. I had a coffee and soon after all was well.

That can't be good.

I'm cutting down on the caffeine. Holy shitballs I may even go cold turkey.

I googled and googled but the only advice I found was to exercise and get more sleep. Sounds sensible!

Any other wisdom dear forumites?

When you cut down on tea/coffee I found that I had really bad headaches, and I mean all day!

Drink loads of water and take some painkillers to help. It only lasts for a week or so. Good luck !!

If you cut down very gradually you may be able to avoid the headaches.

Thanks both.

I was pretty shocked how shitty I felt. Paracetamol, water and cut down gradually sound very doable.

I find I get a coffee headache too. I just make a coffee and it goes. Seems logical to me.

No flaw in that plan at all. Hehe. I may just resort to that. I'm not known for my willpower.

Chams or Socials

I used to have freshly brewed coffee on tap drank cup after cup for nearly 12 hours a day.

De-tox was horrific & I now limit my intake but oh the gorgeous smell.....

I usually feel like this saturday morning cause we only have decaff in at home. Hubs cant drink full caff.

Sometimes i think the hit its giving me is probably just masking my low iron lethargy etc

And not forgetting that number 11 is out now in the OPS at Costa....I just today, funnily enough after purchasing said coffee, extra hot and extra SHOT that I thought I need to cold turkey this coffee addiction.

Maybe we should have a coffee club and weigh in our beans, weekly.

It was the No.11 that perked me up earlier. A regular to-go cup now that my days of going large have been ruined!

Yeah. That didn't last long.

I was summoned to a work emergency at 4am. Coffee - I love you. Maybe I will try again tomorrow
