Charging for Parties

I can understand that if the host has costs to cover then they would have to ask for a fee to get an invite to cover these costs. Why do some people think that its ok just to charge the single guys to cover the costs, single girls and couples are free. Tad annoying.

Central

It reflects the policy at many clubs.

Unlike clubs these aren't commercial ventures - or shouldn't be imo. If the fees seem disproportionate to costs incurred then it is inappropriate imo and no-one ought to support the profiteer. I'd report organisers as cash for sex operatives if they do this via fab - I've no exact idea on Fabs policy on parties for profit but admin can review any reports as they see fit.

Profits from sex parties should belong in the darker ages if it's like exploitation.

Or have your own party? I guess some people will always cash-in on the abundance of single men on this site and that's their perogative. It probably stops a lot of no-shows too (having said that couples/single females can also no show, but purely on number's, most of the "not so sincere" will be single men).

Any legitimate single guy on here faces hurdles and generalisations that it is impossible to argue against. The only way you can hold back the tide is to be the best single guy that you can be, and let the others do what they do. If single guys are vilified or have different rules to play by, accept it, or take control (through having your own parties etc, being patient, respectful and honest.)

Everyone has a choice on here, what guides that choice is mostly beyond your control, concentrate on what you can do to make your experience better and distance yourself from the pack.

It is a free market. No one forces you to attend. If you don't like the cost, then don't go.

A couple mailed me asking if I'd like to attend a party. After a quick glance at their profile I saw "males will be asked to contribute more to the cost"

They couldn't give me a reason why I enquiried why this was so I said no thanks to their invite and told them it waa because of this policy. They blocked me lol

The Garden of Eden in Beautiful North Wales

For a house or hotel party, I think a small fee is aloud to cover the cost of the room and/or drinks/nibbles, condoms etcetera. I have never asked for money but it's nice when people appreciate the cost of things and slip you a few quid towards the expense. It's just good manners really.

Its at a private house and I am not attending as they cannot give me a reason why only single guys are being charged.

Sometimes it helps out the fantasists and potential no-shows.

But it's the world we live in I'm afraid, I'd you don't agree to the terms then don't go!

Fact is women don't need to pay anything to get sex.

Men will travel to us for sex, men will take us out for sex, men will talk to us for sex.

So why would i go out of my way to get sex or socialise, and pay for the 'privilege', when i don't need to?

. Surely if someone goes to the bother of organising a party , there is no requirement to justify their charging policy . No one is compelled to attend a party .

Anyone who disapproves of the policy can always organise their own party.

I have to be honest we have hosted lots of parties and been part of a group who hosts them, we never charged but were selective about who could attend and met everyone socially first. The only time we would ever charge would be if we hired a venue and in these cases we emailed everyone a copy of the invoice so that costs could be split equally for everyone, this never caused anyone issue as it was fair. Hope that makes sense x

Because the women acts like a bate on a hook to drag the men in. I don't go to them, wouldn't waste 50 or 70 to get in, rather spend it on chicken and tuna lol.

As long as the price is reasonable. Then I don't see a problem. When it's vastly disproportionate then it's not fair.

Quality of the buffet is always paramount!!

Exactly, most of our parties came in at around that mark, by the time you buy condoms, lube, mints, wipes, put on a buffet and have a selection of drinks. But we always thought of it like hosting a dinner party and charging never crossed our mind really.

The parties we go to don't have single guys there, otherwise we wouldn't be going and they ask for a small donation towards food, drink, condoms etc. I don't really understand the concept of charging single guys more, whether it be clubs or parties, but i'm sure there must be some 'free' ones out there. Good luck in your search.

Hosting a party costs. Ideally you are looking at.

Rent a house/apartment. Often sometimes minimum two nights.

Plastic sheets for the bed extra cheap elasticated bed sheets.

Buffet

Drink

Plastic cups and cutlery and napkins, bin bags.

CAKE!!!!!!!!

Maybe some extra blow up beds.

Condoms

Party bits and bobs.

Cleaning products.

I've also seen hired in help and photographers.

Then there is the setup, often removing all items from rooms that can be broken and installing sheets for playtime.

The following day is then spent with the morning of clearing up and putting the place back together.

Is it ok to charge. Of course!

If you don't like the charge, don't go.

We attend private house parties and have no issue with paying a small charge. Long as we know in advance and it isn't dropped on us at the door when you arrive.

To be honest...if men are daft enough and deperate enough to pay more money than others to attend a party, more fool them.Like you OP I wouldn't of been attending either.Same with clubs..if single guys stayed away from them...may be,just may be the pricing policy might change.

. Why is it daft or desperate ?. I go to clubs in France and the entry fee is good because it decreases the amount. of men attending . You pay 50 to 75 Euros to enter and if lucky you might have three ladies per night in a fun environment .

It. Is nothing to do with being daft or desperate , just being realistic enough to accept that running clubs cost money .

Anyone who thinks that it easy money should maybe try running their own club or organising their own parties . It might be a good reality check of the costs and risks involved .

However you tend to find in life that those who complain are not doers or achievers .

Women are bait, hence they get in free. Men pay in the hope of a shag. Clubs and parties... same thing. Pimping pays well, or they wouldn't bother.

"I didn't charge for my Halloween party and on one occasion it cost me £300 to host"
MUCH respect to you!!!

This is how it should be, and this is how it USED to be in the swinging circles I used to hang out with.

Those who could, hosted in their own house. One couple rented us one of the flats opposite Malmaison as they had recently moved to Newcastle but still wanted to see us and have a Swingers' party. Other people followed their example. We have also been in a flat opposite The Adelphi, courtesy of two of the single blokes in the circles.

Until one day a "newer" couple out of the blue choose to charge us. As I had agreed to go with a FB at the time, I did not know until we were there. No way would I have gone had I known.

NO ONE forces you to rent a flat. Were it a birthday party, or similar, you wouldn't charge your friends on that occasion.

Wanting to charge money from your Swinger friends (away from clubs) is a newer concept and it is NOTHING but greed.

I know how much it costs to host a party,we had 9 what we sorted out. Didn't charge a penny..it was our choice to hold the parties.Even had one while we was staying in the lake district on holiday.
