Millionaire/Billionaire

An interesting fact I heard on the radio the other day.

We tend to lump the above two together, when in fact they are far different. If you replace pounds for seconds, it then becomes apparent.

1 million seconds is Eleven and a half days.

1 Billion seconds is 32 years!

The main difference between a billionaire and a millionaire is one is comfortably off and the other don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks about them

No, that's already the American billion.

The English billion used to "a million million", so 1,000,000,000,000. But changed to the American billion, such is that "thousand billion" we know now.

31.688, which rounds up to 32, if you wanted to quote to zero decimal places.

So, going by the British billion (1,000,000,000,000), what did you guys used to call 1,000,000,000?

I assume the English counted millions up more.

So, ten million, a hundred million, a thousand million, ten thousand million, hundred thousand million, billion.

As the average wage is less than £25k for most people it will be between 40 to 50 years...
