"Last October halfterm, Terrie, 45, popped outside to enjoy some late autumn sunshine in the garden. That was the last we saw of her. We searched for days and weeks, praying we'd find her. Hoping that she hadn't fallen over rocks and hurt herself, not drowned in the river or during the floods, or been harmed in the cold and frost. We eventually abandoned hope that we'd ever see her again But today we found her poking her head up from the hole she'd dug herself into behind the garden wall Wily old beasts, these tortoises She's now had a little bath and is warming up underneath the radiator in the lounge " Was Terrie your wife ?

Actually, it was the tortoise's garden and he did not want to share. The fecker would wait until you were sunning yourself, creep up and bite your toes. When I say creep up, he wasn't bloody slow about it either.
