Heres one for you as we are more open to our sexual health, sexual awareness does that make us better at talking about sexual health issues with our teenage children. Weather they come to us with a problem or to tell us that they are gay. Your thoughts please.

Looking at some things posted in the forums and how tolerant we are of others i would say NO

My Son has just turned 13 and I guess I am dreading the issues that come with teenagers.

Seems like he learns an awful lot from School and sometimes he surprises me with the comments I hear when he's on-line via PS3 or on his MSN.

I think he is more likely to talk to his Dad than me

my daughter is 14 and has no interest in boys whatsoever (I know it will change soon), but the arsewipe and I have always been totally upfront with her on every aspect to do with sex, whether it be menstruation, how babies are conceived, sti's etc and she knows she can always come to us no matter what and will always get an honest answer.

I don't think being a parent is the point of matter here, it's more common sense no matter who you ae talking to.

I think my knowledge before swinging was adequate for what I'll ever need to say to my daughter. I can't imagine I'll ever have the conversation like:

- are 2 cocks really better than 1

- sex can be so enjoyable up the shitter

- a loving relationship is great but I do luv getting banged by lots of fellas once in a while

And - a meaningful discussion on how lesbian sex and porn gets me so hot!

No these aren't topics I had planned to cover funnily enough

Parenting differs from person to person...

I'm fairly open with my kids, the opposite of my parents who told me nothing.

No, I think anyone with half a brain is aware of their sexual health and their responsibilities as a parent to teach a child. So being a swinger wouldn't have any impact on your parenting skills. Some people are good parents, some aren't, some swingers are good parents, some aren't.

This lifestyle has nothing to do with how I am as a parent: my parents made me the kind of parent I am! They were awful: couldn't talk to them. Vowed if I had children they'd always know they could come and talk to me: nothing would be taboo!

Long before I got into this lifestyle the relationship I had with my children meant they could come to me about anything: and they do.

Even though they're all grown up, when push comes to shove they come to their mum...but in fairness, they come to both me and their dad...and he's a religious nut!

my daughter told me she was bi when she was 15, several of her gay friends had to come and stay with us when their parents kicked them out when they told them were gay. I couldnt believe the attitude of those parents, we're only talking 10 years ago!

If it makes a better parent , i dont know, my kids would probably say not! but at least my kids are happy and well adjusted with their sexuality.
