Cheer up!

So, I've had a thoroughly shitty day at work and am now looking forward to getting home, having a large gin and tonic, and having a dance party for one in my kitchen.

What do you all do to cheer yourselves up after a hard day? (Obviously I'm not expecting this to be kept clean )

Go and visit one of my friends who will make me smile over a coffee.

Or read a book and escape into that.

Or make a phone call - rather than text someone. Usually end up laughing if you call the right person.

Exactly what you suggest OP, a solo sitting room/kitchen disco usually does the trick. My lovely Number One Chap has even bought me a mini glitter ball to make it even more cheerful. What a complete star.

A thorough tongue lashing of a willing pretty woman. Followed by dinner drinks and a lazy evening of mutual fun.

I had a shitty day too & a shitty drive home but felt a lot calmer playing my music & singing really loud in the car, especially stuck in the motorway traffic.

I must look like a mad woman to the other drivers

I rarely need cheering up these days. Probably 18 months since I last felt a bit shitty.

I tend to view it as 'this too will pass' and don't really need to do anything to make myself feel better. Learning to let go of stuff was probably my most valuable lesson.

Central

It varies depending upon how I'm feeling. But I try to get out into nature. I'm fortunate to have this on my doorstep. Some yoga always does me good as does most exercise.

Some fun and laughter works wonders for me - I may go out and play or joke about with friends.

My adopted cat needs a cuddle as much as possible and I'll unwind and let the hassle melt away whilst we soothe each other.

Doing something new is great too. I've got a long list of new adventures to explore so can tap into those.
