"We now get our meet from the local butchers we do this because it's locally sourced quality and not full of crap and we're supporting a local businesses in our very small rural town. It is however expensive in the main but we've learnt about cheaper cuts and the butcher's knowledge is excellent. For tighter weeks or just convenience we go to Aldi or Lidl. We'll never buy meat (or much else) from the big supermarkets again. We also have a local Booths store which is quality and locally sourced. However seeing this musclefoods post has got us thinking, how does it compare in price and quality to say e.g Aldli and say the local butchers? For context we're eating to be both gym fit AND we have 3 little ones to feed too. Interested in folks views please x" Price is fantastic if you're happy with bulk freezing. The quality is great and much better than supermarket and all of it is lean. I mean proper lean. Check out the facestalk (facebook) community "feed your family for about £20 a week". They get some stunning offers from Musclefoods. ![]()

" I've heard mixed reviews. I know that they had issues with their chicken not being packed properly and leaking everywhere plus the quality wasn't very good. I'd go with a small order before shelling out a lot of cash and see if they've got their self together." The leakage problems were sorted over a year ago.

"I speak as a qualified personal trainer: When did eating high quality vegetables and meat from good local sources go out of fashion?" It didn't, sometimes it's nice to try more 'exotic' meats.

"I speak as a qualified personal trainer: When did eating high quality vegetables and meat from good local sources go out of fashion? It didn't, sometimes it's nice to try more 'exotic' meats." Try your local butcher. Those 'giant' chicken breasts and other products like them are often produced using growth hormones and similar. The animals are fed endless amounts of drugs to speed up their growth, often leading to the animals being kept cruelly and in pain. I mean, if the idea of stuffing your body full of second hand chemicals doesn't bother you - then the way that the animals are treated really should. Butchers can get in all sorts of meats that are weird and wonderful. It's well worth having a chat with them - AND they're likely to know exactly what's in the meat too.

If you read further up, you'll note that I'm able to produce a lot of my own food, so please don't tell me about possible welfare conditions, it's what made me start raising my own. and no ones mentioned 'giant' chicken breasts. I understand your disdain from a professional level, but please have a look at the website first, you may be suprised.

"I speak as a qualified personal trainer: When did eating high quality vegetables and meat from good local sources go out of fashion?" It's not out of fashion, eating healty in this country can be expensive and Muscle Food does offer some great prices. Being a qualified PT, you'll understand what it takes.
