Spoilt society

The world well first world anyway.

Seems to be over run with spoilt individuals who if they don't get their own way piss and moan, whine and complain till they eventually do.

I'm not talking about people who complain about a faulty washing machine.

I mean people who for one reason or another get jealous of others and set about trying to get the same or better.

Or never satisfied with an apology want compensation.

It's a nanny state where we have molly coddled a generation who get offended at the first sign they are not going to get their own way.

Siting some sort of victimisation or discrimination.

I'm not saying we should be able to victimise or discriminate, but I do think we should be able to say to people.

No your not getting that or we cannot do x,y,or z end of.

I could go on with an endless list of examples, but I think most sensible people will get the general idea of what I mean, while I am certain a few overly sensitive individuals on here will find this offends their fragile sensibilities.

I think it's time we all took a long hard look at ourselves and learn to say no more often and also take no as a final answer.

I would certainly outlaw all of this "no win, no fee" bollocks. If you are in the right the fee can be covered....if you aren't then don't try it on.

I never understand those, when suing perhaps a hospital, say "it's not about the money, it's about making sure it doesn't happen to anyone else". Well guess what? There's another few grand that could have been spent improving things, so that it would be less likely to happen again, but now it's been spent on a holiday. Go figure!

I think that the feeling that everything should be handed to us on a plate is ingrained in some, not all. Attitudes really revealed themselves in a discussion I heard recently on GCSE results being poorer for white British children than other ethnicities. The majority said that it was down to parents making little or no effort with their kids and expecting the school to do it all. Is that right, do fewer parents bother to help their children with their education or has it always been so?

Hospital and medical practitioners are insured for that kind of claim it doesn't come out of the budget reserved for treating patients.

Can't say I disagree, the entitlement culture is out there.

I admire people who strive to achieve and I applaud their success.

And who do you think pays the increasing insurance premium?

The budgets are different having less in one doesn't mean more in another.

But who's to blame, society or the generation above? Whilst the majority of UK population have comfortable living standards (home, water, warmth, food, education, nhs etc) there's still a massive inequality within the country. So, for some, it may be seen to take what you can so you can get up there with the minority of the population.

When people sue the nhs or companies, over a misfortune they had, I never understand how any amount of money can make what happened better. Most of the time it was an accident, that probably could have been prevented, but then it was an individual/team's fault, not the company, yet it's them who's sued and shamed. But when someone is attacked by an individual, on the street or in the home, they are able to apply for compensation via an organisation but they amount they receive is a lot smaller, given it was an attack that wasn't an accident. So if you're injured by someone within a larger institution you receive drastically more than if it were by someone who was an individual walking down the street.

Accidents happen, a lot less than a century ago, but back then you took a chance, you had trust and accepted possible consequences. It's no wonder the nhs haven't put on consent forms, prior to an op, that it may result in loss of limbs, sense, or even death; just to cover their own back, like many other companies do

General comment, that's the trouble these days, everyone wants to blame someone else rather than take the consequences for their own stupid actions

I blame the parents. Or maybe the schools. I can't decide. Who can I blame for not being able to decide?

it's down to the fact that lots of parents are thicker than their uneducated children

I don't believe people should just put up and shut up either though.

Nobody apologises now for wrongs they did, and if they do it is not sincere or else the situation would be rectified fully.

And that's part of the problem. That apologies are just words and not actions that rectify anything. And these examples are coming from those with the most influence and the ability to change more than any one person or community can do, but it doesn't suit them to change anything so they change nothing and just continue being fake and everyone remains oblivious to this or doesn't care.

be the change yu want to see. Set your own examples and influence in small numbers because those who have the real influence, power and ability to change anything do not care to do so and enjoy you being just a selfish as them so that they can continue doing so on a larger scale, covertly.
