I've attending an 1920s speakeasy event.

But for the life of me I cant find anywhere I can obtain a straw hat.

What kind of straw hat. For a prohibition-era speakeasy I'd go for a felt fedora of some kind. eBay might be the best option.

Hat shop true, but there all up town, and the reason for the straw hat is, I don't usually do hats and its a o e off, I'm in Waltham forest, any idea of one in the area

A straw hat? Unless you are wearing a boater, don't bother with straw. Snap brim fedora if going with a gangster theme. Trilby if you intend to do 1920's Britain, or perhaps a Homburg.
