Bloody ungrateful kids rant!

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Spent a good amount of money on kids toys like most probably have if you have kids. Especially on fecking lego sets (which costs around 70 quid a set) only for him to come home from his mates and say "Luke has way better toys than me!"

Well go live in super Lukes house then you ungrateful little bugger. And apparently Lukes mum cooks better lasagne than us too.

Well Lukes mum piss off and hope you stand on lego in the middle of the night and really really hurt your foot. And hope the lasagne is to hot and burns the roof of your mouth so it hurts for days.

Love the kids but they sure test your patience some days.

And relax rant over! Anyone else got a child rant they would like to share!

Mine winged begged and dreamed about an Xbox one for Christmas. I was a little anti the idea but after months of consistent pestering I relented.

Dutifully Father Christmas obliged and I'm rather narked to say it's been used about twice.

Grrrrr

Even if you was as good as lukes mum there would be another mum better. Most kids like other mums better but they always love their mummy x

Standing on Lego is no laughing matter, I've done it twice in my lifetime and remember both occasions as if it was this morning, no pain comes close.

Perhaps just teach your kid that coveting and envy aren't good traits to have, and to show more gratitude for the efforts you put in.

Don't punish them or anything, they can't help it, but you can change their behaviour instead of just getting upset about it.

Try accidentally standing on a plug, it makes Lego out to be a wuss

It the whole the grass is greener on the other side issue, we can feel like that even as adults you never know this Luke kid could be wishing for your kids life, as no one really knows what happens behind closed doors and those better toys could for all we know be the parents way of over compensating for something, or they could just be spooling the lad who knows

I would have gave it him back after he apologised. Especially when he didn't ask for it back because he knew he had done wrong x

Slight tangent but my kids go to a really good school however its in the middle of a council estate. Most of the kids parents in my eldests class dont work.

So what you may ask? Well our house is lukes house. My daughter gets picked on and called posh. Because we both work. She has extra maths lessons from the school because she is very clever and is doing things a few years ahead of her age group. She now wont tell me when she needs things like having a hole in her cardigan or whatever cause she doesnt want to be seen as posh.

They call her names and are generally mean to her. I dont think kids realise how mean and ungrateful they can be.

The joke of it, we are definately not posh or rich and they go on more holidays etc than we do. Kids only see certain bits not the overall picture xx

Brat moments aren't acceptable, children should still be taught that it's wrong to misbehave.

Kids will be kids... Don't punish him for it ...

When our little ones did that I just simply asked them to look past 'Luke' and see what some of the other children had compared to them...

I think they started to appreciate they have like three rooms full of toys, are always going out and about doing things and go on a holiday every year.. Didn't need to be told that.. They just looked past that one child when told to..

My niece still expects more but she's young, my nephew now a teen is far more humble.

actions speak louder than words - when my son was 4 and daughters first xmas he was obnoxious with her - he had warnings etc - result was his new video snow white and 7 dwarfs that santa had sent was collected by the xmas fairies - he did without it for just a couple of days until was nice again - and then it was brought back - lesson learnt - the thought of not having it there was too much for a 4 yr old - he remembers it now

Aww thats lovely. We can but dream our kids turn out the same...they are growing up in such different times. Gone are the days of playing out until the sun sets and using your imagination to keep yourself entertained. Shopping trips with my 9yr old boy are one big moan fest. So frustrating!

I can relate to this ^^

When asked why, my son who was 8 at the time replied that his friends always got bought the latest gadgets & had at least two holidays a year.

Doesn't improve when they get older either.

My youngest lived rent free (her sisters never got away with that) whilst her dad and I paid for her PhD.

She had a falling out with my other half and has moved in with her fiancés dad and paying him rent!

Cheeky mare was coming back to do her washing and drying and wash her waist length hair at mine because her future father in law is on a water meter and she didn't want to add to the bill!

All parents have that or similar at some point... Then comes I hate you moments... The joys of raising children.

My boy didn't get his bike for Christmas because of his behaviour, he's learnt now to behave in an appropriate manner and will get his bike on Thursday his birthday.

Just to clear a few things up

He isn't being naughty just being a kid so not gonna punish him. I know it's only a kid thing.

Lukes actually a nice kid and says he likes our garden better as it's got a climbing frame. (so in your face Lukes mom)

Lukes mom is a quite nice, but to be fair not my cup of tea.

And best of all I got my own back. Just eaten one of his easter eggs and it was a Cadburys mini egg one which is my favourite.
