I hate the thing. besides the reasons of the cruelty to the poor horses which I won't get in to, i live close to the racecourse and it is an absolute nite mere. for me to get home from work which is normally a 8 min drive, I will have to go on a 15 minute detour and that's when there won't be any traffic!

the whole area gets destroyed by all the mess and men pissing in corners everywhere down the main road and most of the shops around have to bring in extra staff to try to stop all the fraud and theft that happens and the pubs let people.get hammered and then there is fights galore. wouldn't be a huge problem if it was just 1 day but this happens for longer and just causes kaos.

I feel your pain...

Living close to to Epsom Downs is the same. When the Derby is on the area becomes a nightmare for getting around and the amount of 'travellers' always brings it's fair share of problems...
