That little enclave near the Martello tower in Jaywick is the most impoverished place in the country. It makes the Isle of sheppey look classy. No mean feat for an area with three prisons.

Whitby.

The worst family holiday ever. It pissed down with rain the whole week,making a grey place look even greyer.

The only saving grace was that we came home a day early as my parents were arguing so much!

maybe - last time i went was when the kids were little - the idea was to go to the sun centre and then have some fun the rest of the day - but.... wasnt a whole heap of stuff to do so chippy tea and back home

Ive worked there a lot...one day a people carrier pulls up, mother, father, two kids, blow up dinosaur in the boot...the woman leans out the window and says to the engineer next to me, who was black from a big engine job on one of the trawlers, ' Excuse me, can you tell us where the leisure centre is please? '

With perfect timing, and a straight face, he looks up and down the quay and says ' I Don't think she works during the day'

Bloody nice views of Mounts Bay and St Michaels Mount though...
