Yes, they have commercial breaks every few minutes. If you look actual 1 hour epidsodes are really only about 40-45 minutes in length, the rest are advertisements.

You mean there are programmes in between the ads?

"You mean there are programmes in between the ads?"

That's exactly what it feels like I don't know how they put up with it

Yes. It's always like that.

That's why you get a cable box, record, and then fast forward through all the commercials.

My father used to time the commercials with his coffee and smoking breaks

oooh... where were you watching tbs....

but the answer is that technically american comedys are 24 minutes... so gives you 6 minutes to do other stuff.... so 1 after the first scene... then 1 after the opening credits.... 2 during the show, 1 before and 1 after the closing credits.... lol

Yeah, I used to watch baseball on tbs, too. Although, being a Yankees fan, most of it was on the YES channel. I'm considering buying a subscription online...

You do know that "stoops" are not allowed here? Especially not sitting on one. Wasn't there some thread recently that involved stoops and glass coffee tables?

Central

Thank heaven for the BBC. USA shows give you a tease of a show and then start a commercial.

And the shows that recap every few minutes are more adverts and recapping than main content.

This has been an interesting insight into American culture, and one you just don't get in the media, there are only 8 types of American that get portrayed on tv and in the media, red necks, iluminati, gang bangers, neurotic families home for the holidays, hipsters, geeks and jocks, and marines
