I don't think the story went like that, he posted a happy Easter and 5 hours later he was murdered there is nothing to suggest it was because he wished everyone a happy Easter.

I thought that it was being treated as racially/religiously motivated attack. Have the police said now that it was specifically in response to that facebook post?

This is why I have nothing to say.

What on Earth can you say to this sort of crap?

Every 5 fucking minutes...

Muslim, Christian, Christmas, Easter, mosques, schools, burqas, politically correct, Islam, immigrant, illegal, benefits.

Arrange according to your preference and fill in the blanks for maximum bigotry and outrage. Facts not required.

It appears that its got a lot of truth to it, a Muslim man has been arrested, and he did post an Easter message to his Christian friends.

Let's say that again, a Muslim man, posting an Easter message to his Christian friends, so not all Muslims want Christian festivals banned then, but I guess I'm the only one who will take that from this travesty, that a peace loving Muslim, tried to show what his faith was about

The murdered shopkeeper sounds like many if not all of the muslims I grew up with and knew in Birmingham. He had spoken out against extremism, against terrorism and had respect for other people's beliefes and religions

Or he's ill. Or the guy he murdered trod on his daffodils. Or any one of a number of possibilities.

The story has the word Muslim in it, it's obviously a simple religion-related hate crime.

White guy kills someone: "he's probably mentally ill. This is what happens when the mental health services are cut".

Black/brown guy kills someone: "It's obviously race/religion motivated. It's a hate crime. He's a thug/terrorist/criminal. Let's string him up".

If there's a case, sure, but the point is we don't know the facts. Yet he "probably" wants to ban Easter, some are automatically assuming the motive.

Carry on. I'll wait for the facts and the trial.

London and France

Well if the guy murdered him because he had wished happy easter to Christians; ( if that is true) then the murderer doesn't know anything about the Muslim faith;

Because Christ is actually a significant religious figure within Islam.

I worked for awhile in a country with a significant Muslims population: and they set up a big Christmas feast. One of our Europen colleagues got all politically correct and complained that we were " insulting Islam" by celebrating Christmas;

My local foreman ( who was also a senior Imam ) laid into her in no uncertain terms because she was insulting Islam by critisising the fact that they were choosing to celebrate one of their significant religious figures( and critisising their hospitality in that they were " treating" their European "guests" to a Christmas feast.)

The fanatics choose to ignore that bit.

And fact is that you also found reason in that to attack the alleged murderer's religion. And stereotyped him as a hate fuelled extremist that wants easter banned based on nothing at all while failing to see that the victim is also a muslim who clearly meets non of those sterotypes
