She can't rule much longer, but then again would you want to hand over the kingdom to Charles?

She must fucking hate him, I think she often calls him to the throne room and hands him the crown, only to snatch it back, and laugh saying "literally over my dead body you jug eared little gob shite"

I hope she does any way

Brighton - even Hove!

"Is it time for the monarchy to modernised? or time for, United. Kingdom. to become a Republic? "

I don't think a republic would be a modernisation of the monarchy, more a disbandment of the monarchy.

by the big field

If we must have a monarchy, it should be opened up to every family to have a go- maybe every 2-3 years we could have a lottery, £5 per ticket to help boost NHS funds and one lucky winner gets to move in to Buck house for the duration.

At least it would be a tad more democratic than the current monopoly of the single family, incumbent and unelected overlords of Europe

I don't mind a few of them in Buckingham Palace but there's no need for the extended family and all the associated land etc. - all of that should be returned for the public benefit...

However as I don't trust those in parliament I don't want them to have control of that. Therefore until the political system changes I'm happy for things to stay as they are.

To be quite honest, if they got rid of them, the people who complain about their existence wouldn't notice any change in their daily lives at all. They would then complain about something else that in the grand scheme of things will never effect them.

Keep our heritage and evolve it I say.

I've been in the palace. Been in her her mums house too but I'm not that creepy bloke that sneaked in & left little deposits on her bed

As I said earlier I'm not against a small monarchy but I see no need for supporting the extended family etc. etc.

Let's be honest, compared to the monarchs of old, QEII is basically just the UK's mascot.

She even exercises her prerogative powers according to what government require, by convention.

Keep the queen and phill the Greek (an absolute legend I've had the honour of talking too), Harry again is also a morale booster, but unfortunately for me (even though I know things won't change), I just don't see Charles or William the unwilling as kingly. Charly is too busy talking to his plants and William too busy playing happy families, neglecting his duties not only as a Royal and 2nd in line to the throne, but as a search and rescue pilot, if what the papers are telling us, is to believed.

Oh just to give you a nice warm fuzzy feeling. We still maintain a gallows in Plymouth dockyard for anyone thinking of committing treason... 0-) just saying.

It's still in the south yard as part of the Royal Navy Museum. I was introduced to it in 2005, all fully functioning and proved to be when you're stood on it around the trapdoor and it's opened into the room below.
