I want to go somewhere hot for Christmas. Where's the best place to go? I want sun, sea & cocktails on Christmas Day. I've been to Mexico but I want somewhere different. Any suggestions please?

Goa is my favourite winter sun destination.... I haven't done Christmas yet but I believe it's great and certainly on my list do

I've been looking at Goa but not sure where to go. I'll probably be travelling on my own so need somewhere safe.

I love the sound of chilling on a beach in Goa.

"Australia"

I'm too scared of encountering the spiders. It's also a bit too far I think.

Can you recommend any hotels there? Also is it safe if I leave the resort?

Solihull

Thailand is great but avoid the east coast(I think)as it's the rainy season, but I had 33 degree c in Ko Phi Phi.

The other way of deciding is to go on sky scanner and get some idea of flight costs then decide using the prices you want to pay.

Thailand like a lot of places have a cut off for reasonable flights before they up them for the Xmas period.

Excellence Punta Cana is an adult only resort. Plenty to do there but you can also book day trips.

We went 1 February when I was pregnant (I wasn't when booked!!) We knew nothing about the country so went All Inclusive to Arrosim Beach Heritage Village. They couldn't do enough for us & we were very safe.

We visited the waterfalls, did an overnight stay in mud huts with an elephant trek, visited a spice plantation & ate curry off banana leaves with our fingers, had a trip in a boat to fish for our lunch. It's an amazing country

I highly recommend Cuba too - before it changes. We went with a 4 yr old to Santiago & Guardalavaca. Another fantastic experience. We were stood in the grounds of an old fort El Morrow watching Hurricane Wilma move in

Thank you, I like the sound of all of these. I think Goa is top of my list, with the Dominican a close 2nd.

Cuba. Its the only place we've wandered in the Caribbean without a guide or organised trip. We felt so safe we were down back streets and in little supermarkets for locals.
