I've just seen a Jehovah's Witness fall on his arse. Now usually I'd have gone to check he was ok. But......

1: I was laughing to much

2: he was a Jehovah's Witness

Am I wrong for not checking??

Because it's Good Friday, a day to spread the word I would assume.

To some it's shite, to others it's not, I'm not one to judge one on their beliefs

I have spoken nicely to many Jehovah's Witnesses in my life. We have different viewpoints on certain issues, doesn't make what they believe a laughing matter or shite on many of those.

If I was close to them though, I would always go over to make sure they were okay.

I naturally laugh when this happens to me or to someone else ... But I would still help them; never know they may laugh at themselves ...

As for Jehova's witnesses I quite like them.. Have two different couples come to my door... One for my nephew who apparently has been talking to them over a year now and one for my dad who invites them in for tea and biscuits and all sorts. I personally like talking to them.

OP there are plenty of people that make a statement and then try to back track when the consensus goes against them. It may well have been funny but you did claim that you didn't help because of his religion. People may not hold in his beliefs but most will respect his right to hold them.

I was stuck on the M6 the other day and it hadn't moved for ages. The passenger of the car in front got out and started running to the bushes at the side of the motorway. He was obviously desperate and as he ran his trousers fell round his knees and he tripped over.

I fucking roared with laughter

If you have a garden and uninvited callers have to use it to reach your door aren't they technically trespassing ?

If they refuse to leave are you then entitled to : call the police/release the hounds/point a shotgun at them and bellow 'get orf my land' at them - in order to encourage them to leave your property ?

There's something about implied right of access which relates to their right to come to your door but I don't know the details.

If you tell them to leave and they don't, then they are trespassing.

I think. But I've never had anyone refuse to leave. I've had a couple of very pushy sales people keep talking over my "not interested, thank you" but they went away when I shut the door.

Personally I've never understood why watching someone potentially hurt themselves is funny. I've never enjoyed so-called 'entertainment' that focuses on this.

I certainly don't understand why religion should make the slightest bit of difference. A human being is a human being, regardless of beliefs.

I doubt compassion is a strong point of yours OP!

Am I wrong for not checking??

One human sees another human fall and doesn't help because he doesn't like what he believes. I'd say that's wrong, yeah.

Ah see your all assuming I didn't help due to religion but intact it was the fact I couldn't stop laughing

Read you op again then, it says you didn't help for 2 reasons, one being his religion

Yea that's the order of why I didn't the main being I was laughing to much. Besides he has other people with him knocking on doors so he is fine.

People are very touchy about this aren't they haha. "

Even some of the most pacifist and kindly people find themselves laughing at some of the extreme violence portrayed in Tom & Jerry.

Compassion is a continually moving variable based on circumstances. Would your compassion extend to rushing to Kim Il Jong's aid if you saw him slip over and fracture his pelvis?

I don't usually laugh,I'm concerned that they haven't hurt themselves. However,on d*unken nights out, when a friend falls over,I have been known to laugh as I try to help them up. I think,if they laugh,I laugh too. I've seen someone fall and break an arm and that plays on my mind.

Sarcasm doesn't really work on here...

And neither does humour... Which is subjective as you have seen..

Not everyone thinks the same so what one person laughs at would horrify someone else...

You chose to post your thoughts on a forum so you have to be open to criticism...

And even though people say they don't judge they are obviously lying

I think you are wrong for not checking. I think you are wrong for laughing.

If i fell over (cus of my present disability) and you laughed then that would make me cry and feel ashamed.

If my mum fell over (shes in her 70s but looks younger and physically fit but has dementia and her brain doesnt give her the correct messeges so sometimes she falls over) and you laughed you would find a very angry woman telling you what she thought of you and hopefully making you feel ashamed of yourself !

If I was shameful enough to laugh at anyone like your mother then yes you would have a point but not a physically fit 40+ yr old man who happens to live over the road from me and in general we have a nod head type of relationship. The laughing was because he fell over air while looking like he's tripped over a step while thinking he could go around the cul de sac with the watchtower mob knocking on doors.
