"Sorry Im laughing ...... I can't believe you said this .. surely it must be just as bad for deaf people. lol ... " lol, no what we mean is....it must be just as hard for them trying to watch the show and the signer, off to one side, at the same time. It would seems easier to read subtitles on the screen. Just can't understand why both aren't optional in these hi tech times. XXXX

XXXX" cos your liscence fee would rocket and then you'd be bitching about that is it really that much of an inconvenience? hearing people can watch ANY programme at ANY time, deaf people who prefer to watch it with signing have to wait until the wee hours or watch it on catch up etc do you really feel that hard done by??

Not so easy to have subtitles running along the bottom of the street when you're out & about.

" A number of (admittedly) older deaf people were never taught to read or write because their parents and the education system never imagined they'd have any use for those skills

Much harder than the subtitles that are directly in the line of vision. Plus, the signer will sometimes be absent or motionless through some sections of dialogue. Bloody Hell, this sounds like Karl Pilkington! XXXX
