Hey does anyone know of a chat service app or text service where you can talk to someone without actually ringing ? Google doesn't seem to bring much up.

Thanks

Do the Samaritans have an online app? I would have thought they'd have something.

Having suffered myself this is something I would have liked to have. I would happily chat on here or let people vent to a sympathetic ear. Just ask

Have a look on here too, as there are a few different sites with email and other ways of contacting.

depression can not for everyone make a person feel lonely as not everyone understand the situation and being sort of distant from others may for some make it worse

Thanks for the options, have emailed a couple of them but they say replies can be upto 12 hours. Was hoping for something a little quicker. Can't ring the landlines at the moment as I'm abroad .

Was hoping to find something like whatsapp where you can talk freely .

Didn't know there were apps that help with that sort of stuff. It feels once you get to know a person and you tell them what's going on in your life if it's not all fine and dandy they just don't wanna know.....

The Samaritans or mind are excellent or a trick that I have learned is to right things down. Right down all the negative thoughts as it is away of getting things out and also a mood diary is good too x

Depression is so common. (1/3 I think) It's a word you hear and just instantly know that person is having a rough day.

It's one of those things where all the best advice in the world can't lift you out of it. People saying "snap out of it" make you want to scream. It's good to talk but sometimes it's the last thing you want to do. Lock yourself away in a dark room for a year sounds much more appealing. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it's just so small it's hard to see. Nobody should suffer with depression alone even if they feel like closing off. Just knowing people have your back is a boost. Good luck with it

07725 909090 is the number if you need to text Samaritans. Better than emailing as they have a huge backlog and there's quite a wait before you get a reply xx

When I was really depressed a few years ago I found exercising and working out really helped me and kept my mind focused on other thing also working out releases endorphins into you body what make you feel good but just remember no matter what your going through or how hard it is there is some out there who has gone through the same and has a prespective that can help you
