ive had this before

i tend to friendzone someone i really like. its like i cant think of them sexually or take it to that stage because it would feel like i was lowering my opinion of them or something. it was weird

then afterwards when we kinda fell out and the feelings werent as strong i couldnt stop thinking about her sexually

I know in my 20's I did this - but I'm

rubbish at signals. I have lots of friends still of the opposite sex. Years later two of my male friends told me they'd fancied me and why hadn't I realised. B will tell you - you've got to spell it out for me to see!

I imagine there's a lot of 'online friends', if there's such a thing, that treat each other as friends due to the distance between them just because it will limit their ability to meet, and gradually ignore the initial attraction over time etc.

It's all relative, someone's direct approach may come across as flirty banter to another etc.

Unless someone says to me, "I'd like to meet you", I'm unlikely to realise. Any flirting will probably be taken as joking and banter.

I once messaged someone who was flirting with me on the forum, to be told he was only joking and not interested in meeting me. I haven't been able to see it as anything but joking around since.

When I am friends with a guy, I'm friends with him. I don't look back and regret that. I know of one guy who liked me, but it wasn't going to go anywhere. We are great friends to this day.

I always figure there is a reason you become friends instead of having sex, so I just enjoy that. Even if I was the one who hoped for more.
