felt so proud yet humbled

My youngest took her brownie promise today, while doing an activity for a badge at a local old peoples home....

One of the old ladies that was helping proudly repeated the promise as it had been in her time.. And omg she remembered it... But it was to serve my King.... So touched at her helping the young ones take their promise.

As a former Cub Scout, I still remember my pledge, I believe the only difference is now is which God (if any) you pledge to.

Most of the ladies there had been brownies and seemed to really enjoy having them in to help with gardening and singing for them.

It was for me just a realisation of how long brownies have been around for. They also joined in making Easter bonnets

I remember making my promise all though years ago I think those are things that never leave you.

We did our hostess badge & entertained some ladies & gents from a local care home - it was the day of Live Aid. We had to bake cakes & make them cups of tea & we sang old songs from the war & camp songs.

When my youngest got his bronze award as a beaver he thought the certificate had really been signed by Bear Grylls & made such a big deal about it x

Brownies are 102 this year!! Cubs 100 - I have a badge to sew on his uniform!!

You never forget it. It's changed recently for the first time in years.

We used to always have a pretend pond too and say - twist me and turn me and show me the elf. I looked in the water and there saw - and the new brownie said myself.
