So someone in their infinite wisdom has decided to let the internet name their new £200,000,000 RRS. The names that people have come up with have been of great people, such as RRS David Attenbourgh or RRS Henry Worsley.

But this is the internet, and as of now, we might hear,

"I name this ship, Boaty McBoatface"

(PS I have voted on that name as well)

Is it bad I've never heard of these ships? The RN has a hydrographic survey squadron (HMSML Gleaner, HMS Scott, HMS Protector, HMS Echo and HMS Enterprise), but never even twigged research ships wouldn't belong to us

I'd suggest RSS Darwin
