Have to agree ! Not much to read . If you want people to make effort with messages you need to make effort with your profile . Unless they were married and told you how would you have a clue if they had read it or not ??

Sometimes a thread just leaves you scratching your head.....op many don't read profiles. That is never going to change. If it causes you this much angst then use the filters to stop all contact and do the searching yourself.

I assume you're referring to me? So, please indulge me while I take a moment to point to point out the gaping flaws in your retort-

I'm not the one complaining about the type / quantity / quality or messages I get, in an open forum; thereby inviting comments, observations and the like from other forum users.

I was actually asking a question then following that with the basis for my question. It was not a critique of your profile, but a question founded on an observation.

I was going to follow up with the observation that you could write a 400 line profile and still get exactly the same responses because many on here will simply 'try their luck' so to speak - and that it provides you with a handy 'early filtering mechanism' to get the quality meets your doubtlessly looking for.

But, sadly, you just took it personally when it wasn't personal at all.

Anyway OP, you have a great day and I wish you a better quality of respondent & message in the future.

Is this just a symptom of FAB and the demographic profile of the members? Couples and single ladies seeming outnumbered by single guys in a ratio of circa 100 to 1

In that denominator there will be a significant proportion of trolls who are chancing their arm in sending a message the respondent neither wants or asked for.

It's just the way it is and somethings will never change (could be a song there!)

That said it's equally frustrating for those single chaps who compose a message within the guidelines of the recipient only for it to be deleted. Just a fact of life and as this part of life is a nice distraction why would one get flustered over it?

Just move and enjoy the site?

I disagree.

There's an age range and she's looking for men, not women or couples. She can't accommodate or travel. She's filled out the interests and it would suggest she's interested in straight sex rather than BDSM, watersports or anything kinky. She shows no interest in phone sex, cyber sex or camming...

I can ascertain a fair bit of information from that profile. I'm guessing some men pay no attention to any of it and message asking to come round, for 'phone sex etc.

The ratio is nothing like 100 to 1.

It's been discussed on here a few times and several of us have done informal surveys of our areas.

The ratio of men to women is somewhere between 7 and 15 to 1 on average.

I don't know about men to couples.

And of course I can't know how many are duplicate/fake profiles. Some, probably.

It's still nowhere near 100 to 1.
