The Iceman - Wim Hof - Method - Cold

Has anyone heard of this guy and his breathing methods and the benefits of the cold?

It's been scientifically backed up that using his breathing methods you can withstand the cold much better and it boosts our immune systems etc...and help to deal with things like disease, depression, anxiety etc...

If you type Wim Hof into YouTube there's plenty of videos about him and his methods...

I had an ice cold shower last night for the first time and used his methods. At first I literally couldn't breath because my body went into cold shock (it felt like I was being attacked..so intense!) but after about a minute I got my breathing under control and inside I felt warm even thought the water was still freezing cold! It was pretty crazy! Haha

If you hate being cold and hate winter...check this guy out. I used to hate the being cold with a passion but now realise it is very beneficial. And it's been backed up scientifically.

Forgot to add, using his breathing techniques it's been shown that it can release more adrenaline than someone doing a bungee jump...Which releases good chemicals in the body they say..

Never heard of those experiments. The Wim Hof stuff works though. Good stuff. Very motivating.

Yes 'tis great Positive thought in general works. With the cold stuff I'm not sure exactly yet, but it's something to do with it releasing certain hormones and activating the nervous system. Apparently we have 2 nervous systems...I'm still learning about the science stuff behind it

Something like that yeh. It's more about the breathing methods from what I can tell and the resilience to the extreme cold is one benefit. The Wim Hof guy climbed mount Everest in just shorts because of his breathing

He's charging a fair bit but the basic information is out there for free.

It's interesting. I like this sort of thing.
