Just booked a party for a fortune teller to come to the house.

Had my fortune read before, some shite, some good.

This woman has come highly recommended.

What are your thoughts on them??

My diplomatic answer would be 'I'm a cynic'.

At risk of causing offence I won't offer up my non-diplomatic views on how they operate

I think that there are some very rare people who genuinely have certain abilities but they are extremely rare and unlikely to exploit their ability at parties like Tupperware.

Limited or non existent evidence of them, despite the thousands that operate globally, that leads me to consider it as particularly credible. I'm biased - I prefer to be honest - and think most are scams or somewhat good at saying what you want to hear.

Cold reading is a skill that many use. Remove the feedback to them and they struggle.

I base every important decision in my life on the random mutterings of people I know nothing about.

I don't believe it, however rather like religion. I think it comforts some people to think they can speak to those that have passed on.

London and France

Complete and utter bollocks.

However, the " plausible" ones are adept at picking up signals from your body language, finding things out about you in conversation without you realizing it, and using some probabilities of things happening.

Add to that , many people who use them actually need some " affirmation" so choose to believe it.

If you are able to shut down all subliminal indications; they are fucked.

An empath would be able to read you really well. Not many people are truly empaths though.

A con artist would be able to convince you they were reading for you.

I've met some who were talking complete shite and I enjoyed listening to their ramblings before explaining why they were totally wrong...but...I have also met one particular person who astounded me and I'll be forever grateful for his message.
