Travelling light...

For me... is utterly impossible!!

I'm going away for a week and I'm attempting to travel light. However, I have instructions to take my pervy stuff with me so already I have to take a bigger bag so that one particular thing fits in!!

I've looked out my clothes for the week, deciding that I'm not taking anything fancy... just casual comfy clothes for a week pottering around, catching up with mates and going out and about round town. I still have way too much stuff. By the time I get my toiletries in and my hair dryer and all that gubbins, there's gonna be no space for my laptop which then involves taking a bigger handbag and then a handbag doesn't really go with my casual jeans and trainers look and then I have to take a little bag for when I'm out and about so I don't have to carry the monster one.

Honestly... I'm shit at this travelling light malarky!

How do the rest of you manage it? I'm mostly talking to the girls here cause I'm guessing the boys take a toothbrush and a clean pair of boxers!!

Up North :-)

I can manage with a pretty small bag if i have to. Given a choice i would pack a wardrobe but there is only a very small space in the boot for my stuff cos someone has 20 pairs of shoes in there and so not much space for my stuff

I tried having just a carry-on when I went on business trip, and failed miserably!

Gave up after that!

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

I always travel light. I can go away for 3 weeks with just hand luggage as long as I dont have too many work papers with me.

Im mortified if I arrive somewhere to find a colleague with less luggage than me...

I don't travel light. I like to have a few toys with me along with some boots and if i don't have what i require things don't go well.

Well I packed last night... that's the other thing I can't help myself with... I'm not going till next Monday... what is that all about?!!

Anyway... now I'm reconsidering my shoes and thinking that I should probably take my boots too. I wish I was one of these people who could just go somewhere and wear the same pair of shoes for a week. I need the Trinny and Susannah of packing to come help me!!

Let me know if they're coming round.

I'd fuck the skinny one senseless.

I have a bag like mary poppins I think.. I once fitted 3 changes of underwear, a few paddles and ties... all my underwear etc..

I have never ever took things like hair dryer.. lol I will just pick a pair of shoes that will work both for travel.. or I will leave one pair in the car.

I can take one suitcase for me and 3 kids.. :D so I am damned good at travelling light lol

oh and I would be packing the morning I was going.. or the night before.

Katie. x

At the moment I have four pairs of shoes and a pair of thigh high boots... for a week that's ridiculous!!

I don't need spare eyelashes cause I'm getting them done tomorrow night. I do need stockings though. Batteries! That's what I was going out for at lunchtime! Well remembered!

I've still got some of old wardrobe flightcases, lived out of them for months and months on tour, I used to be able to take nearly everything I owned out in one.

These days, the easiest way to travel light is to just grab my passport, my laptop and my wallet containing cash and credit card - there's nothing I will need that I can't go and buy anywhere in Europe, should it become necessary.

The Subject of travelling light

Ahem....Did you know,,,,

oh,, ,how rude of me,,,,,,,, I'm sure you did infact all know the speed ligh travels

So I guess in reality I should stop what I was about to say right here,,,,,!!! But I simply cant…..

So, please accept this humble apology for my inner nerdy-locks which just wont allow me to refrain from blathering out...

“light” actually travels about” 299,792,458 metres per second

Which as you all know is approximately 300,000 kilometres or 186,000 per second

And that’s roughly equivalent to 1,079 million Kilometres or 671 million miles per hour

Ok carry on as you were !!!!!

Travelling light?

It's impossible for us. By the time we've packed evening clothes, specialist cycling clothes for all weather types, helmets, shoes etc the little car is full - and that's before we even think about putting the bikes on the roof!

If anyone sees a little Ford Ka trundling up the motorway with two mountain bikes on the roof please wave!

I am definitely going to attempt to travel light when I go to Crete in August. I have learnt from previous hols that when its hot I cant be bothered to wear anything fussy and just keep shorts, tshirt and scholls on. This year I am just taking 3 pairs of shorts, various cheap tshirts, one maxi dress for the night time, one pair of diamante flip flops for night time and my scholl sandals, thats it.

(and if you believe that you believe anything)
