I remember he had some publicity for 27 marathons in 27 days but did anyone realise he has already done 23 - the 24th is already underway! I don't read the sport pages but I would have though there would have been some headline at 5 or 10 down?

I'm not a huge fan of his work, but what he is doing is an astonishing feat and he is doing it for such a good cause I can't help but admire his intention ......

you might have thought a little more publicity would have helped with donations. It's not like running round the block or doing a 5000m fun run though St James park on a Sunday

Not really into running unnecessary, but I'm a fan of his stand up

Great achievement. Apparently thinking of standing for parliament too.

I've ran nowhere near that, or with such frequency, what an incredible physics effort. My enough publicity, I'm sure he'll get there and raise a big amount though.

I can barely get my head round doing one marathon. Doing this many, back to back is beyond amazing to me.

He's getting publicity via the Chris Evan Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 1 each morning, usually between 8.30 & 9am.

As of this morning he'd raised around £440k for Sport Relief.

I saw him live once and wasn't massively impressed, but I do like the Death Star canteen, though. The youtube upload is especially good

Is that only happening now? I remember having a conversation about it a while ago and assumed he'd already done it. Good on him.

He might perform better if he got elected as an MP. Would love to see him glammed up in parliament. I'll not rush to book stand-up comedy show tickets Tina.

If you think what Eddie Izzard is impressive,There is a guy who is planning to do 401 marathons in a row for anti bullying charties. He has already done 199 and is due to do 200 tomorrow. Check out his website - 401 challenge. His name is Ben Smith.

It's not the first time he's done lots of back to back marathons.

I think it's an amazing achievement

He did 42 in 51 days in 2009 too!

Had to abandon a similar challenge in 2011 due a serious kidney problem, this time he lost a day to dehydration so is doing a double marathon on last day!

Top bloke!

Yay he did it - well done Eddie.

He raised £1m for Sport Relief.

Although Jo Brand raised nearly the same amount walking from Humber bridge to Liverpool, he should have just done that
