Well I hate to be politically incorrect, but in my life I have yet to meet or speak to an intersex person Surely they are a person first before intersex or hermaphrodite comes into play.

I wouldnt go up to a person and say hi are you intersex. No I'd say hello and if it looked like sex was on the cards the question of intersex would arise I'm sure.

Intersex sounds like some kind of European directive. In five years time once a few people in the general population have actually heard the word, that too will be deemed insensitive and the lemmings will be trained to use another word in its place.

The word hermaphrodite does a pretty good job of explaining whereas the word intersex explains absolutely nothing.
