100-200 messages a day

Just wondering if this is as commen as I see it being stated on threads?

I've seen many occasions (mostly profile advice) where people say single ladies get 100's of messages a day. Is this exaggerating or do people generally get this many?

I know I get maybe 10 a day.

I remember one woman showing me a message and then again another a little later, maybe 30 minutes or so, and she had received another 25/30 messages, which is a pretty crazy idea to me. I get a few a day but ignore the vast majority.

I bet those who are attention seeking and with open filters etc would get hundreds a day?

I can get 100+ per day if my filters are open and I'm online a lot. A lot of guys scan the who's online now, hoping the women online will be looking for a meet/dirty chat.

I have my filters off (usually on).... I had 1 public pic on until this morning.. I got 116 messages yesterday.. Read my profile..

I had a proper profile up until last week.. And any time I took filters off for forums.. I would receive on average 60 ish messages a day.. If I upload a public picture and have filters off then it can be stupid amounts of messages. Especially if you're in hot pics.

When I first joined as a single and wanted the attention.. So no filters lots of pics.. Decent profile.. I was getting 300-400 messages a day...

Interesting question. Noticed a new single lady joined around 9am this morning according to news feed. 10 mins later she complained that her mailbox was full. Find it hard to believe tbh. We get a manageable amount of mail but we have quite a few filters.

That was just the amount she sent me a screen grab of, so not sure if that was a build up ?!

But if you see the ladies on the hot photos get 800+ fabs in 12hr then you have to imagine that they must get s few sending messages too .

I have 62 unread messages in my inbox, the oldest of which is about 3 weeks ago. I definitely don't get hundreds a day but when I change location I get an influx of about 80 over a couple of days. If I didn't delete a few that I'm definitely never going to be interested in then I'd have more sat in my inbox lol xD

But no I think it's an exaggeration. I've only had over 100 messages a day on the first day I joined the site

I normally receive 30 or so messages a day but I have very rigid filters. When I post a meet it is over a 100 messages a day but this also depends on the area I am travelling to. Weekends I perhaps receive 10-15 messages a day.

Agreed - if people wanted to find single guys, tvs, couples or whatever, for themselves, it's easy to use that filter to stop all the incoming unwanted messages. Or removing all their likes.

Just over a year ago when we rejoined we wwould get up to 100 messages when we put a meet request up .

Now its about 20 or so .

Probably because we've met most of the people who want to meet us since then !

nobody wants to have a dead inbox either, which mine is now i've blocked all guys from messaging.

think it took me months to get the balance right in my inbox.

and half your messages are copy and paste or some random shit from selfish guys, not very flattering tbh.

For us it's changing location that does it.

With our usual home territory of Newbury set we get maybe 10 to 20 mails a day.

If we go away for the weekend which we do maybe twice a month we open a different profile and set the location to wherever we are going to be.

While that profile is open 100 to 200 mails is common. Staying Birmingham or London can see is get 4 or 5 hundred a day.

Not complaining about the quantity as we don't set filters but it can be a pain reading all the messages only to see that most have simply not read the profile.

Probably half of them have not even got as far finding out we are not an MF couple.

I generally get over 100 a day. A portion of which are instantly deleted due to height, location or crap message content. I have a couple of filters in place but there isn't much you can do when looking for men to play with other than accept messages off men.

I state on my profile that I get a lot of messages but do it in a vague hope that it may prick an odd one of them into NOT messaging me!! Just hope it's not the good ones it may put off!!

My new pics of last 48 hours have however brought an influx and I currently have 290 unread.

I average 5 to 10 each week but mine and Kim's couples ad gets that a day.

We don't bother to answer two to three word messages as people who send these usually turn out to be time wasters anyway.

If we have put photos or new veri 's we tend to get more than usual.

If I am looking for a meet, have a request up, filters off, a provactive status & it is a Thurs, Fri or Saturday then yes I can get that many messages in a day.

But I am heavily filtered so no new mail can get through and I haven't had to ignore anyone for weeks

Obviously this is just my opinion, but I have never believed it.

Some people see it as a competition and a measure of attractiveness and so not to be outdone 'elaborate' a little.

When I first joined the amount used to be 80 messages a day, for some reason many people got the exact same amount. It then went up to 100 then 100s and the figure keeps getting higher. when you've been here a while you start to see trends.

Similarly the squirting phenomena, porn stars were doing it, a few women started saying they could on fab and then a wild influx of women have suddenly developed this skill.

I'm half tempted to take all my filters off and report back tomorrow hoe many messages I get.

But I don't think it's fair to let people message who I wouldnt ever meet. (personal opinion not thinking bad of anyone else's filter choices)

i blocked all older guys and younger guys. my filters have a 10 year range. mostly they are set to off soi don't get any messages if i'm not meeting. my blocklist is small because of this too.

it's easy. just block men unless you're looking for a random meet or someone new to chat with.

open filters, wait a minute, then choose several guys you're interested in, then turn them off again.

no need to delete anything you're not interested in either, just focus on who you're interested in chatting to without too much interruption. delete read messages as you go to keep on top of everything.

also get used to talking to many people at once. you hardly need to take your filters off this way too.

Yeah I'd agree with you both!

I don't complain about the number of messages I get. I have filters - but only a few as I don't want to deter pm's from fellow forumites. When I do get time to read some there are some lovely guys amongst them who are well worth meeting!

I don't pity anyone who gets loads of messages - but I do sympathise with the guys who message us/them as it means many messages will go unread! Xx

I got about 40 messages within 2 hours of joining... some sent before I had written my profile or uploaded a pic. I read a couple of messages and some said "your profile and pictures look great... ". So I just ruthlessly hit 'delete all', and, following Fab's Advice For Newbies, I put some strict filters on.

Now I hide my profile when I'm not in the chat room, so that I don't come up in searches, and I only tend to get 5-10 messages a day.

When I first joined it really was 100s. It was insane. But now I've set my filters and of course not such a new face, so it's much less. I still get fab overload occasionally though.

Yeah I'd agree with you both!

I don't complain about the number of messages I get. I have filters - but only a few as I don't want to deter pm's from fellow forumites. When I do get time to read some there are some lovely guys amongst them who are well worth meeting!

I don't pity anyone who gets loads of messages - but I do sympathise with the guys who message us/them as it means many messages will go unread! Xx"

I will admit that when I see a profile that interests me the thought does cross my mind if it's even worth messaging. The more appealing the profile, the more messages they'll get and the odds that mine will not be read or bulk deleted is there, regardless of how well written or interesting it may be (and they usually are). But these are the facts and I normally do message and take my time making it appealing, with no expectations. Sometimes they reply, sometimes don't. Them's the brakes lol.

I've seen many occasions (mostly profile advice) where people say single ladies get 100's of messages a day. Is this exaggerating or do people generally get this many?

I know I get maybe 10 a day.

I`m lucky if I get 10 messages a YEAR!

We learnt very quickly that if we put up a new pic and make it public that we got loads of messages so we now sneak them in friends only and then change it a day or two later which helps....that and good filters means we get 10-15 a day

Well to be honest fellow forumites (as long as they're on often enough/make themselves known enough for me to recognise their name) are far more likely to get their messages opened read from me anyway. Partly because I think it's good manners as we're supposed to be a huge group of friends (as I see it anyway!) - and partly because the messages are likely to be more interesting than the 'gi's a shag!' Variety! Not sure if other forum ladies prioritise friends/forumites though! Xx

I have never had loads of messages. I have some filters and don't appear in most searches but I don't feel put out by not having loads. Even when I post a new photo I don't get inundated; I am far more likely to get winks and friend requests as a result.

Although your pictures are clearly gorgeous (Clem's a lucky guy but I'm sure he knows it) and I have major shoe envy (remember you promised you'd leave them to me in your will?) - the head boiling comment and the one-liner at the bottom would lead me to assume, if I was a guy, that yours is a forum/chat only profile so they'd be wasting their time messaging? I'd imagine that's why you don't get messages, rather than any lack of popularity! Xx

Neither have we...

We tell ourselves it's because we've always used fairly tight filters.

Most of our meets have come from us making first contact and doing the searching.

Ha yes i remember the shoe promise....but my profile hasn't always been this uninviting and I've never ever had a need for filters. They are just there atm.... But I've had them off before and I've just never attracted a lot of messages.

I once got over 1000 in one day when a photo flukily got to the top of most fabbed and it went a bit mental even with some filters on. Normally I'd get maybe 10-15 a day with some filters on, with pretty much all the filters on its just 1 or 2 unless I initiate messaging myself, which suits me much better.
