Is it just me that is sick and tired of recessions ? I have been working since 1976, and in that time we seem to go from one recession too the next. So bloody depressing being told "we need to curb our spending". I am sick and tired of it. Bloody shit useless governments. Rant over !!

It doesn't seem to work very well, this capitalism lark, does it? Always troughs and peaks but deeper and longer troughs than peaks.

I just get a bit cheesed off being told by politicians that we need to stop being frivolous. A tiny percentage hold 99% of the wealth, and that's not going to change anytime soon.

Government have had a pay rise, that to me says we are not in a recession or time of austerity cuts.

Why they lying about it though?

Sweetheart, YOU have to curb your spending so the Lords, MP's and bankers don't have to.

I thought everyone knew that!

Did you enjoy it as much when fuel was £1.50 a litre?

The reason oil prices have dropped is because the Arabs are terrified that we'll develop shale gas and no longer needing their oil, don't quote me but if/when we develop it, we'll be sorted for over 100 years and by then none of us will be on this piss poor planet!

Strange that people hate paying £1.50 a litre for petrol but will happily pay £11.50 for 75cl of wine.

To be fair, petrol or diesel is fairly essential to a lot of people. Wine isn't.

Never paid more than about £7 for a bottle of wine.

You Dont Need to Know, right now

The UK did have a "boom and bust" economy, from the end of WW2 until 1992. However, for the years from 1993 to 2006 economic growth was surprisingly stable. 2008 was the real stinker, but we pulled it back. And for all those complaining about price rises, remember the low and stable interest rates which we have had since 2008. Good for mortgage holders, terrible for pensioners. Remember the UK's forced exit from the Exchange Rate Mechanism in 1992, when mortgage interest rates increased by 4 percentage points in ONE DAY, to 15%?

We should count our blessings, not moan that things aren't perfect.

I think this is a ridiculous notion. WHEN I win the euromillions I will require lots of poor people around me so I can Lord it over them, throwing handfuls of loose change out the window of my bugatti.

Hydraulic fracturing gives both gas and oil!.

Of course they've packed alot of it in these days with prices around 28 dollars a barrel it's completely non profitable except for some very sweet spots in a couple of plays

That's why the Arabs have over produced to purposely bring the price down, hoping we'll put it on hold. Then if we do the price will shoot up again.

It's a case of going backwards to go forwards.

Nice big load of Iranian Oil making its way to the European market now the embargo has been lifted. Was off loaded at Cepsa Punta Mayorga a week ago. I wonder if that will drive the price down further?

But yet everyone seams to have lost the plot over fracking...... It is a step backward away from cleaner renewable fuels....why (I don't hear people cry), because the Tory pigs (and their friends) that claim to be acting for people are set to make huge profits from it....it does not matter that it will pollute the areas around the wells, the water courses for miles (which we will drink) and then there is the wildlife, no one thinks of the danger of not having bees flys etc, but without them we will have to go to GM foods and we no where that leads don't we ( lots of TV coverage saying how bad it is)......

This country is just one big joke..... And yes the people that cause it to be a joke, brought on the recession are those f******** who are creaming it in.....

Yeah I know the official line is there protecting "their" market share.

It's utter bollocks, they produce about 14 million barrels a day at full whack (which there currently doing) but they really shouldn't, extracting at peak rate is not very good for your Wells, so they really should be producing at 10 million barrels a day, now the world users about 85 million barrels a day, they have a market for 10 million barrels at any price 10 bucks or a 100, that's a proven fact, they were selling all their oil at 130 dollars a barrel when fracking was at full output!.

But anyhow when oil was 100 a barrel they would only have to have sold 2.5 million barrels a day to make the same income!.

In case it escaped your notice, Saudi Aramco is up for sale, well a chunk of it anyhow, Aramco makes apple Microsoft or Google look like chicken feed.

The Saudis have got nothing agaist frackers or competitors (there oil is amongst the very cheapest to extract).
