Male grooming - yay or nay?

Hi everyone. I was at a spa last night and saw a guy with incredibly long armpit hair. It was long enough that I was struggling not to look at it for a short while, as discreetly as possible of course!

It got me thinking about attitudes to male grooming of body hair in general. Guys do you tend to keep things trim? I'm not just talking about pubic hair but areas like eyebrows, chest, back, shoulders etc... as well. Women, do you prefer a guy who does a bit of 'hair management' or just let it all be natural everywhere? Does one area of the body make a difference in your preference over another (e.g. fine with a really hairy chest, but can't stand bushy sprouting eyebrows)?

I'm trim and neat in some places. Smooth in others.

I do it for me though, because this is how I feel most comfortable.

In most cases yes, But some people have more going on in their life to worry about how they look,

I try not to judge people on their appearance

A little chest hair isn't bad, but if I'm fighting back your pubic hair, I won't want to go down there... owww and a throw rug on the back isn't attractive.

Nice and trimmed, shaved or wax. I'd do the same for you fellas

I need a lawn mower to keep my body hair on check. It's a 24/7 job with a pair of tweezers.

Men should be men and I like hair, can't stand men who shave all there chest hair off, like hair down below too as long as its trimmed, all of looks horrible I think, but each to there own, we all like different things which is good

Hate this "men should be men" sexist nonsense, everyone is entitled to do what makes them happy with their own body!

For me personally I like it trimmed, neat and tidy. Wish guys wouldn't shave their bodies coz all it does is make them jaggy and then I can't get up close and personal.

South East Midlands NOT

I hate when a man shaves his chest and back...it's fucking prickly!

I'm not a massive fan of the shaved smooth pubic area either. A trim is sufficient!

That said a lot of the men I end up with are not so hairy naturally anyway.

I like men shaved or trimmed in their pubic area. Not to hairy elsewhere either. I'm lucky that my hubby (who is the only men I'm interested in) isn't very hairy anyway but he is very much a manly man

I don't think that has anything to do with hair tbh it's more to do with attitude etc

I think I might find it odd if a bloke had no armpit hair.

People should do what they want with their own hair, they really should.

I like hairy men myself but each to their own.

I do find it slightly odd that some men want to be totally hairless, but it doesn't bother me.

If I find a person attractive, the quantity of body hair they have or don't have isn't an issue.

I'm still intrigued upon the length of that armpit hair op.

O like well presented guys, that can include some trimming. Some men are fantastic with smooth chests too, however they achieve it.

Not a fan of seeing men with extra long eyebrows.

Yes I feel the same way about that too. I shaved mine off once a few years ago just to see what it was like. Felt and looked weird to me. Was actually glad when it grew back.

I love guys who are well groomed!

Trimmed or shaved hair. Exfoliated skin. Moisturiser, body lotion - nice smelling deodorant, trimmed nails etc etc!

Everyone should make the best of their appearance - not just women. Xx

...Up on the Downs

The closer I am to someone the more I like/don't mind their body hair, so conversely I find it hard to stomach on strangers sometimes.

A picture of a full forestation on a strange man does not appeal, even though that's what we grew up with, we did not have to stare it in the face beforehand lol!

I like men with hair as I just find it very attractive, that said, not a massive fan of flossing whilst sucking!! However a man needs to be confident and comfortable in his own appearance and shaving everything just because it's the latest fad and not what he really wants will impact on how they carry themselves. Guys, just be yourselves as you lure us women with your confidence and masculinity which has nothing to do with hair or the lack of!!!

Well, it was long enough to be almost down to his elbow! And no, I'm not kidding or exaggerating. He was reasonably hairy overall anyway, so it wasn't completely out of proportion to the rest of him, but I'd never seen armpit hair anywhere near that long before.

Personally, I like to keep things generally trimmed where reasonable (highly subjective, I know). I have a thing about sprouting eyebrows, so I check and trim where necessary every month or so. I also am not a fan of back and shoulder hair so had those lasered smooth about ten years ago. They weren't particularly hairy anyway, but I wanted them smooth and the results were just what I wanted and have (so far) stayed that way.

I usually run a trimmer with a comb guard over my chest every couple of months just so it doesn't get too thick, but it's not particularly strong anyway, so not much comes off.

I keep my pubic hair trimmed quite regularly. I used to shave it for a while, but it sort of looked stupid and I had no idea where to stop as my stomach has a little bit of hair too, so I just keep it well trimmed now.

The only area I shave (apart from my face) is my cock and balls. I can definitely understand people not wanting to get pubic hair stuck in their teeth/throat!

Only problem with shaving the penis and testicles is it can be a bit prickly as it grows back. Wish there was a way of safely and permanently removing hair there.

Yes, I tend to agree. I don't judge someone if they haven't, but I don't feel so good if I'm not 'tidied up' to a reasonable extent

Yeah, I tend to lean towards this. I don't go so far as ex-foliating or moisturising or using body lotion, but definitely deodorant and trimmed/ smoothed nails (for obvious reasons )
