So we know how to spot attached guys claiming to be single on here and online in general but what about in real life everyday situations. How do you know (without flat out asking them) if someone is single?

Do they flirt, make eye contact and then you can see in your peripherals that they're looking at you.

The only way to know for sure is to ask.

Attached people can and do flirt, make eye contact, smile and can be friendly etc with others.

Not everyone wears engagement or wedding rings either.

Hmm. When will you find out where you're going to be placed after your trainning? Could you wait till then, and if you're going to be moving somewhere else ask then? So if it turns out badly you never have to see him again, and if it goes well you might be able to keep in touch I don't think many people would be offended by a question so long as it wasn't too full on.

I'm single, but i'm fairly obviously under the thumb.. well, 2 small ones. It's usually assumed at work that I'm attached. Maybe it's the frequent glancing at the phone to make sure school hasn't called, or the 3 evenings a week I'm almost running out the door to see them. . heh.
