hotels v apartments?

Just wondering what people's holiday preferences are and why?

Our preference is apartment's on the basis that they are usually bigger, better equipped & more private.

My first priority is the destination and that can restrict the options available,,...

But given the choice, I prefer self catering type accommodation where I don't have to consider fitting my timetable around a pre-determined schedule ......

You can have own drinks and space no outside interference unless you want it

Hotels only for luxury for a couple of nights

On business, I prefer to book an apartment. The rates are generally comparable to hotels anyway, and you get bigger rooms and more facilities, and often more discrete

Often check the prices. Some of the hotels I stay at cater for everything from self catering apartments to all inclusive. I have often booked an all inclusive deal for less than the b&b price. It pays to shop around.
