Your fab name and real first name

I've met a couple of people who to start with told me a different first name - say Nick* and then after a few meets - said actually my name is Simon*. But then I can't seem to get their real name into my head so to me they're always Nick*.

Anyone else get confused! Or is it just me.

* those names I totally made up - well as far as I know!

Yep!

My original fab name was Paula all Alone. Even though I deleted that profile over a year ago - about half the people on the north west club/party scene still call me Paula!

Doesn't bother me at all though! I answer to Paula, peachy, and my real name!

I prefer to use real names where I can in private with them once I know it.

There's aways the risk you'll accidently call them their real name in public so I try to avoid names as much as possible on the forums if I can.

I like my profike name, Dan, as its a million miles removed from me real name (Zebeddee)

Someone may revive it.

I had a fair part of life with complexity, so I keep it simple, just Sophie works. And our cat lady, who wasn't Diamond for a while, threw me, as I had 3 names and a birthday to remember. It was a bit much for my head.

It's strange, they're just words, labels, but we connect to them with the person.

Early on in my time on Planet Fab I got chatting with an unbelievably yummy chap and finally braved meeting him for a drink (first Fab meet). Somehow in the back and forth messages, I had totally forgotten his name (I know, bad admin). I was a bit worried as to how I would handle the whole "what's your name again honey?" question. Fortunately the very first thing he said after the hello kiss was "I have to tell you, my name's not really X its Y". Phew! I didn't confess that I'd totally failed to recall the made up name he introduced himself as.

We did have different names on a previous profile, but since setting this new profile up, we decided to be us, found it weird signing messages with a strange name, and meeting people calling ourselves different names.

I guess the deeper we get into this lifestyle the more normal we find it. I don't believe we are doing anything wrong and also believe more people in today's age do it more than others may think. With all these house parties and dinner parties I think particularly women are more curious than ever

We have met plenty of people that start off with one name... Then tell us the real name and I never really can associate the other name with them... Not that I'm good with names anyway.
