There's been some pretty good photos of the northern lights....tonight seems to be a good night as it might be clear. Has hand one here seen it this week?

I haven't managed to catch them around here this week even though some people have reported sightings...

I'd love to see them.

I checked the sun's emissions forecast fir this week and Sunday 6th had the highest predicted levels, with it tailing off by Monday night and lower and stable this week since. I looked around on Monday night and didn't catch it. I've also been in the midlands, so not as far north as Soxy, and so have a lower potential for sightings here.

I'll check out the sun's activity and update, if things look to have changed.

Solar wind conditions that helped us in the UK and Ireland earlier this week have remained subsided since and are predicted to be around this level for the next few days. They'd sustain viewing in Lapland, Iceland etc but not further south in general. It doesn't mean it's not possible for down here, just much, much less likely.
