I've had a go at downloading it a few times....keep getting sent link in emails.

Never seems to work so given up.

Either way it seems that every time Microsoft come up with a new version of windows it is just one step worse than the previous one!

could be if you've turned off anti-viruses and firewalls, i copy and pasted this for you (got it off the official MS site).

Follow these methods and check if it helps:

Method 1:

Temporarily disable third party anti-virus software and install the update.

If you have any third party software installed on the computer, then I would suggest you to temporarily disable the anti-virus software.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2:

If you are using any Proxy connection, then try disabling the proxy connection and check.

Follow the steps to disable proxy:

Click the Settings icon at the top right corner in internet explorer.

Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.

Uncheck the box next to "proxy server for your LAN".

Click on OK to save the setting and close window

i tried downloading it the other day but my laptop is too old to even care about downloading any of it, but i did look about to see why not first and found a lot of people having problems.

some people have had success downloading win10 as an .iso file, either to a USB stick or disc and installing it that way.

I've upgraded a 3 or 4 years old laptop running 7 with zero problems.

The 80200013 error code does appear to be as explained above. There are a few, months left to get the free upgrades - so no need to rush.

Find someone with a Windows 10 installation disk and load it that way (I know your win 7/8 licence will work if installed that way too as I have done it on my laptop). I would invite you round and do it for you but I am bi.
