Derby

Morning all. Is it just me, but if I do a search around my Derby post code there really doesn't seem to be many people of the age/'type' I'm looking to meet...or is this what most people find after being on here for some time?!

Willing to travel but arranging meets then gets tricky!

Think it's just you

When we first joined fab we were surprised how Derby seems to be a hotbed of swingers lol

Grass looks greener but you still have to mow it.

It probably just reflects normal geography, big cities will have the most sign ups generally I'd imagine.

Claude Greengrass never did it for me.

Sarah

N.B. I thought Derby would be fairly active swinging wise as you've got Nottingham not far away too. Plus the Attic.

Derby

I think perception is a good point, along with the big city

I would agree, whilst Derby isn't a big city, it does seem to have quite an active population (!), just once you have been on here a while, you have chatted to a fair few, met some and the rest just don't float each other's boat respectively?!

Central

Derby's a great place for members. A lot of people don't want meets with those on their doorstep, so widen your search appropriately. The east and west midlands conurbations contain millions of people, with tons of fab users and clubs - you're almost spoiled for choice.

I'm also in Derby and live in a top floor flat. Fancy a romantic stroll on some grass? Meet you at the Arboretum in about ¾ of an hour

Nottingham, Leicester, Stoke, Sheffield and Birmingham all within an hour - all with very active scenes. Derby itself is very active.

If it's not working for you here, it's probably not for geographical reasons.

Edinburgh

The grass is always greener... until you're on that side of the fence. Then it's greener on the other side.

Not at all ... New members join daily and there aren't many as prolific as us in the scene .

We never struggle to find suitable local meets .

just message the people who aren't interested in you.

it won't work but gives you something to do while bored i guess, that's why i think it happens so much anyway.

Derby

Some fair points here but, as in sure most will appreciate, it's more difficult for us single guys.

Spreading the search criteria is a good point, which I have done, tends to run into problems with people then saying you're too far away to make it work lol!

Maybe the saying isn't true....!

The postcode map thing can be a bit fucked up in some areas. Try changing your postcode to a nearby town and do a new search.
