Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I have a mate who has never met a conspiracy theory he didn't embrace with both hands, from faked moon landings to JFK to 9/11.

So what's your favourite conspiracy theory?

Officially according to the US governments last enquiry... JFK was probably murdered by a conspiracy invoicing two or more people!.

So as it's the most likely one to be true it's also my favourite one

My fave one a few years ago was that Nibaru (Planet X) was on its way to knock our gravity out of sync reverse the magnetic pole - right down to so called blurred blacked out images from the Hubble telescope allegedly hiding this super massive planet ... Some right nut jobs believed that.

My current fave is the ancient alien mining base on the far side of the moon - and the fact that the Apollo 13 moon landings encountered aliens which is why there was a few minutes of radio silence from the moon when allegedly NASA cut the comms ...

When I'm bored and need a bit of light entertainment I read the 'Above Top Secret' message boards and realise that some people will believe anything is a conspiracy!

My take on things - I think there ARE a number of coverups and conspiracies out there - and the authorities let the more outlandish ones through and encourage the likes of the David Ickes of this world (with their theories of shape shifting reptilian overlords and the like) as the absurdity of some of their claims hide and debunk some of the more 'accurate' theories as they all get grouped up with the more oddball ones!

I like to think of them as probabilities...I mean how likely is it?.

911 mmmm controlled explosives, the amount of people needed to do it, not very likely... However just a few people in high places could allow the very real hijackers a better chance of succeeding?

The last JFK programme I watched he was accidentally shot by the secret service guy in car behind them who was reaching for his rifle when he heard the initial shots from Lee Harvey Oswald, seemed the most convincing out of all the programmes I've seen before and since too.

Definitely the one involving Fab's very own illuminati/clique that conspires to make single men's lives miserable on here a misery.

I used to love conspiracy theories, but now I don't really believe any of them.

For the most part, it's that well known principle where if there are slight anomalies/unusual elements in a event, people disbelieve that and jump on the bandwagon, believing in something that had way, way more anomalies and is more far-fetched.

There's a very clever guy who wrote an algorithm of probability.

This one is actually the least likely of all of them!.

Turns out the more people involved the quicker they always come out.

So 35,000 people means it would probably be exposed in weeks not months or years

I'm not saying they are, and I'm not saying they're not .. Obviously I don't have all the info or evidence to hand. But there are a lot of strange things that are alleged to have happened in the immediate aftermath of her going missing which seem unusual to the untrained eye ... and behaviour you wouldn't normally expect of parents desperate to find their abducted child but (thankfully) I've never been in a situation like that so I guess it's difficult to say how anyone would behave under such strains and pressures

Of course the "making the ship dissapear" is nonsense:

But we can nowadays make ships and aircraft appear to be where they are not, by radar tricks; you can " cloak" a heat signature; physics theory now says you can do it with light; but so far the biggest thing we have " shifted " optically is about the size of a pin head;

Conspiracy theorists are just nobodies who need to invent stuff, or pretend to have " inside knowledge " in order to feel important . And feed off the utterly appalling level of scientific knowledge of the average person .

I said it the other day, but if Diana's death was a plot it's a ridiculously crap one. All she had to do to foil it was put her seatbelt on.

I'm sure Mossad, or whoever else was meant to have bumped her off would come up with something better than than that .

The one where JFK's driver shot him is brilliant. The first time I saw it, I thought - "bloody hell, that's it solved. He was killed by his driver." Look at the enhanced footage closely though - it really isn't the driver holding a pistol, the silver streak is the sun shining on the other guy's head.

No-one has done much to show there really was a shooter on the Grassy Knoll. There's some photos which people say looks like and outline of a person if you stare at them for ages like a magic eye picture. Personally, never seen anything in them.

The whole Oliver Stone "back and to the left", so must be shot from the front mantra has been discredited by many. If you look at the footage of the fatal shot, brain matter shoots upwards from the front of his head, more consistent with an exit wound i.e shot from behind.

It's hard to accept banal things like a Princess would be alive if she'd put her seatbelt on, a no-mark loner, loser killed the most powerful man on the planet and Islamic fundamentalists could strike at the heart of the U.S. We want more, I think they're true though.

They're about to start re-screening all the xfiles shows, so could be worth seeing.

As for conspiracy theories - the governments are likely behind many, plus disinformation.

Research shows that the conspiracy fanatics are largely a closed shop, ignored by most of society. It's thus in government's interest to keep them going and this insulate most of the population from unsavoury stuff that does happen. Alongside all the ludicrous stuff that they and others dream up. Propaganda isn't a new art.

I have no favourite theory, they largely don't interest me.

My pet conspiracy theory:

Malaysia Airlines MH 317 was forced to land on a tiny Pacific island so that particular person or persons could be got at by whoever.

To make it look like a crash the plane was blown up /broken up and parts dropped into the sea to be washed up on 3rd world beaches.

Who knows what has happened to the crew and passengers though? Still kept at the secret Pacific Island base perhaps?

America landed on the moon in the 60's and 70's.

One man, working alone, shot President Kennedy.

Princess Diana was killed in an accident plain and simple.

9/11 was an act carried out by terrorists.

Hitler died in his bunker in 1945.

Jack the Ripper was Aaron Kosminski.

Aliens have never visited Earth.

Roswell was not an alien spacecraft.

Humans find it hard to accept that the simplest explanation is usually the real explanation. We like to think that there is more to life than we can see.

Imagine if John Lennon's killer had fled. There would be conspiracy theories all over the place about how it was the US Government that had killed him. But no it was just one man acting alone.

Loon is probably the wrong word to be fair. I just remember his description of 9-11 as a revolt by people against Hollywood as it controls culture and represents a New World Order. He said they were saying "f**k you" to that.

I thought that was a ridiculous thing to say. Add to that and the falsehoods in JFK (a filmmi loved for years) and I lost a lot of respect for him.

I do love some of his films, particularly his early ones. He was/is a great filmmaker.

"The McCann's are guilty

I'm not saying they are, and I'm not saying they're not .. Obviously I don't have all the info or evidence to hand. But there are a lot of strange things that are alleged to have happened in the immediate aftermath of her going missing which seem unusual to the untrained eye ... and behaviour you wouldn't normally expect of parents desperate to find their abducted child but (thankfully) I've never been in a situation like that so I guess it's difficult to say how anyone would behave under such strains and pressures "

So your last sentence makes sense and totally underlines that you not only don't have 'all the info or evidence', but you aren't on the investigative case and you are being potentially libelous. None of us know, my opinion is they are guilty of nothing, they are a family who have had a child snatched from them for god's sake! Your opinion is that they seem to be, if you have any facts go to the police, otherwise keep your opinion to the pub.

My favourite conspiracy theory revolves around the bisexual brother of King George VI, Prince George, Duke of Kent.

He was a bit of a shower and led a colourful life to say the least but it is the circumstances surrounding his death that interest me.

George died in 1942 in a plane crash, on non-operational duties, during WWII, the first royal to die in war in almost 500 years.

Once described by Prime Minister Winston Churchill as a "gallant and handsome prince", George Edward Alexander Edmund, the popular Duke of Kent, was the youngest brother of the reigning monarch.

Bizarre theories about the air crash have emerged down the years. One alleges Rudolph Hess, Hitler's deputy who had flown to Britain in 1941 to negotiate peace, was on board (who then was that individual prosecuted at the Nuremberg Trials who served out the rest of his life in Spandau Prison?).

Had enemy infiltrators, as others have suggested, tampered with the flight W-4026 before it took off from Invergordon?

A secret report received by German foreign minister Joachim von Ribbentrop, on December 5, 1942, claimed the Duke of Kent was apparently sympathetic to a peaceful understanding with Germany and an internal sabotage plot had been carried out as a last resort to avoid a potentially embarrassing "problem" for Britain...

My current fave is the ancient alien mining base on the far side of the moon - and the fact that the Apollo 13 moon landings encountered aliens which is why there was a few minutes of radio silence from the moon when allegedly NASA cut the comms ...

The one that the CIA guy in the car behind shot him is pretty out there. Effectively, it's saying that an assassin (ok, or assassins) shot JFK and Connolly and by some hideous coincidence, a gun accidentally went off at the same time.

It's a little known fact but Neil Armstrong fluffed his lines. What he actually said was:

"Holy living fuck. Are you fucking believing this? I abso-fucking-lutely am standing on the surface of the moon. I am talking to you from the goddamned fucking moon. Jesus H. Christ in a chicken basket."

"Holy mother of fuck," the first man on the moon added.

Clearly this couldn't be used to so it was dubbed

Was a very interesting piece in it about how the democratic party ousted FDRs VP Henry Wallace, Henry was, how shall we say, not very pro war, had an attitude against the British imperialistic nature and wanted to have better relations with the Russians.

Despite being very very popular with the "people" they ousted him for Truman who wasn't popular but had a more preferred attitude

Three bulIlets were fired that day, all by the same person.

It's been proven beyond doubt that President Kennedy was killed by a bullet fired from the 6th floor of the Texas book depository. Even the way the empty shells landed on the floor points to a shooter firing one bullet and then changing position, as the limo turned a corner, and firing another two bullets.

All conspiracy theories are based on a poor understanding of the facts or a perversion of the truth by self serving liars.

Someone definitely shot him from the TBD, even most conspiracy theorists accept that.

The only question is whether there was someone else for the fatal shot and possibly other shots.

Look at the angle of the Grassy Knoll and the position of the JFK - it's completely wrong. There would have be an injury to the back left of his head. For all the disputes about the injuries, no-one has ever claimed that.

Regarding the report in 1976, it relied massively on the recording from the dictabwlt to conclude there was an extra shot. The police officer was adamant he wasn't where he the expert said he would have to be in and computer models now back that up.

I respect your position though - love a good debate on this kind of thing

Look at the angle of the Grassy Knoll and the position of the JFK - it's completely wrong. There would have be an injury to the back left of his head. For all the disputes about the injuries, no-one has ever claimed that.

Regarding the report in 1976, it relied massively on the recording from the dictabwlt to conclude there was an extra shot. The police officer was adamant he wasn't where he the expert said he would have to be in and computer models now back that up.

I respect your position though - love a good debate on this kind of thing "

.

I wouldn't argue that much about the position 3 shots in what was it 7 ish second with a bolt action ww2 rifle. Mmm possibly.

One bullet shooting two people several times again.. It's possible.

There's just an awful lot of possibles with JFK and not alot of probables

the episode which flew plane into wtc. In the new x files there's another false flag the American government want reduce population 50000 and one way of doing was in the last episode and plan release biological agents on the people .to much to go into tho

50000, that's easy, make health care hard to get for pensioners (best target for population reduction), halve the recomend ed cholesterol level put a few million on statins, and wait for the side effects to kick in... oh wait... they did that already...

"New world order that's the big one fema camps this immigration takeover Europe plus I believe in the alien conspiracy "
.

Let me put a hypothetical to you.

What would you do if you knew that the world wasn't going to go on as we know it?.

Let's take a holistic look at "society", do you think we could as a civilisation carry on with something major, by that I mean something that will stop industrial life as we know it!,I mean this whole thing of houses and jobs and holidays and new cars and eating out and picnics in the country... What if all we could offer you was living in a small box being provided the very minimum of everything by the state, boiling a kettle became a luxury, fresh water, food, taking a shower, medicine, all utter luxuries, do you honestly think society would hold together?.

If you knew that this was a distinct possibility in the very near future... The question is what would you being doing today if you were "in charge".... I mean as a society we've been indoctrinated by Hollywood films and the past that we're always going to find a last minute solution to a global problem!.

We're all hard wired to think that it will never end, despite the fact we all know everything ends eventually we just presume we'll never be here to see it!.

So here we are today, you've got 330 million people in the USA to feed, clothe, provide power, jobs, money and you know your not going to be able to do it in 20 or 30 years time. That 330 million outnumber your army and your police by at least 300-1 and that's if you could hold all your army and police loyal, that alone requires massive resources of which you haven't got so in reality your going to be hugely outnumbered, the country will fall into complete chaos, you've got, 20 nuclear power stations and 1500 ICBMs alone that can't allow that!

The complete break down of a complex country means in reality millions dead.

This break down could come about by biological terrorism, nuclear terrorism, financial collapse, a pandemic or just plain old climate change!

What would you do?.... Me... I'd be preparing for a whole lotta burying stuff and that's time consuming, so I'd probably need holding camps until I got round to burying that stuff?.

Of course if I was very very wealthy I'd probably build my house underground somewhat, probably near the ocean, definitely far from any big cities, helicopter would be handy and maybe a big boat, to hold out on till the worst blew over, of course you can't live on a boat forever, so I'd probably but large sections of deserted ground out in the far away places, big enough to grow food but far enough away not to be bothered by the poor natives, south America maybe, new Zealand, pacific island's.

Of course this is just hypothetical it's not like Steve Wozniak or bill gates have done any of this!

Why would they have done it (or even how all those years ago?) but never go back?

Money, which was why they were cancelled in the first place. There is irrefutable proof that men landed, walked, drove, and left things on the moon."

what proof, if no one has been back how do we know there is stuff left there.... Best film about space conspiracies based on the fact that the moon landings could have been staged is Capricorn one

The biggest conspiracy theory is..

That your government gives a fuck about you. They dont.

Ruled by consent?

I do not consent to be ruled.

If you did some genuine research you would find undeniable proof man went to the moon.

Google jaxa for a start.

the Russians Americans biggest enemy said it happened. Jodrell bank recorded all the sound and messages from the moon.the ozzie tracked it.the lasers that bounce off mans equipment left there.

Afraid if you disagree that man went it shows your serious lack of scientific knowledge and your opinion in further science based debates is null and void

Surely all the info on something like this comes from TV, books, the Internet or papers which are all writen/produced to put someone's point across?

So unless you were there, your information is no more reliable than the TV programme...

The way I understood it, JFK was shot at by LHO, the agent in the car behind had his finger on the trigger and accidentally let off the fatal shot when the car he was in braked...

I saw that one - looked quite convincing.

My conspiracy is that Spielberg was asked to produce ET in 1982 to prepare people so when real Aliena were announced people wouldn't freak out.
