No seriously depends on what your thing is its so diverse!
Museums wise, theres manchester museum, museum of science and industry and the national football museum. Theres loads of live band clubs and pubs.
Depending on time of year the outdoor cinema. If your not afraid of heights go to the hiltom deansgate and look down from the glass floor.
Northern quarter for food and great indie bars. Deansgate is the posher bit xx

As Vara said, there are plenty of museums if that tickles your fancy - MoMA (modern art); science and industry etc.

Oh and one more thing go to Teacup - just fun cakes and great tea and atmosphere - can't book so go early and have a cuppa and pick a weird and wonderful cake .....
