I've written a diary since I was 11 and they're all in the attic.. my daughter and her mates used to spend hours up there laughing their socks off at me. Especially one entry in red that says 'I just have to face up to it.. David Cassidy will never marry me!'

Im more worried about the videotapes they might find when Im gone.... Might have a clear out...

.

The only diary I have ever read was that of my Mum's the year she died.

She was diagnosed with cancer and died within 6 and a half weeks.

We took her decline down to her looking after my step father who died the year before.

When I read her diary I realised that she had kept a lot from me, her handwriting deteriorated, her enthusiasm for her garden went and her usual sunny outlook on life went.

Oh how I wish I had followed my gut instinct and ignored her protestations

no, wouldn't read anyone elses diary.

and a word of advice from Uncle Jack:

"If you want to keep something secret, don't tell anyone, and certainly don't write it in a diary"

Unless you're called Belle, Adrian... Mrs Dale, Mr Pepys etc etc...
