Is Roadworks a misnomer?

Every time I've driven past roadworks this week, there's been sod all work going on.

They're either all stood round looking at a hole, all on their phones or no-one is actually there. When there's no-one there I'm wondering where they all went. Unless they're all on Fab and struck lucky !

You have to wait for concrete to dry . And sometimes you need other stuff to be delivered

Then only bt can do bt gas can do gas etc

It's the same with any project that involves building materials sometimes things need to dry and you need to wait for other people to attend

its a shit job working on the roads and it's not the work men's fault

I have been on sites and seen people shout abuse out window and throw stuff at work men

They're currently resurfacing a main road near us and i must say they are doing really well to avoid working on it during peak times. The job is being completed with minimum disruption to the local people that have to use the road, even though it is technically closed. I don't mind that i have never seen anyone working On it.

The way you describe it, I'd say more of an oxymoron.

That's bollocks, by the way. That's not how council finances work.

Highways England, on the other hand...
