A quite popular restaurant in Leicester has been shut down by the council due to vermin control.

I have been many times and never had a problem with the food but it does make you wonder what goes on with your food preperation and the cleanliness.

I like the restaurants where you can see your food being cooked lots of the popular ones are in every city.

I guess mice will always be a problem and the old mouse trap just doesnt seem to work now ?????.

on the road to nowhere in particular

The mouse trap only works if it is used. Burger King by Paddington station was closed because of a rat infestation recently

If it was closed down, it was due to poor hygiene. Do you really want a rodent pissing and shitting on your food?

Restaurants get closed down due to a 0 rating from Health and Safety. You really do not want to ingest food from one of those establishments.

It was one of Leicesters biggest and most popular restaurants the food was always superb and mine hosts were always nice people so it could have been a glitch on just one day when the health inspectors arrived.

We will await with baited breath to see if its shut down for ever.

they don't close them down because of a glitch, there will probably have been previous concerns which were not addressed or the place was so bad that they had no choice..

Curry is something to be desired and enjoyed. Not subjected to

Mice? That sounds cuter than rats. You really would not want them in a restaurant, though. Places do not get closed down without serious hygiene issues.

It might have tasted nice, but you might have been eating rodent poo.

I work in catering engineering

I can assure you that rodent infestations are not limited to curry restaurants.

If you see some of the things we do, it is unlikely you would ever eat out again.

A cockroach colony nesting in a dishwasher was this weeks special feature

They like it. It is damp and warm in there.

Lovely. I prefer them lightly fried in a garlic crumb.

Yum, crispy.

Actually even a zero doesn't automatically shut down a place, it has ro be really bad to be closed!

I often go to the loo before ordering, if that's not spotless chances are the kitchen isn't.

Although being in Bradford there is lots of choice!

Kirkby

I'd guess all places that deal with food have problems with mice, rats or both. The problem is with all the council cut backs, some no longer offer a pest control service, so these places can only do so much. Rats and mice aren't stupid, traps will only work for so long, before they learn to avoid them.

It is nothing to do with council cutbacks. Any self-respecting establishment will hold hygiene and customer safety dear. The only effect from council cutbacks will be a lesser number of inspections.

You don't rely on the council to clean your house, do you?

There is no excuse for bad hygiene in an establishment serving the public.

If your house had rats and mice running through it would you put traps and poison down or blame the council?
