Breaking.... using fake profiles online is to become ilegal.

No, having a fake profile is not going to become illegal. Prosecution can be brought in three specific circumstances; creating a fake profile the use of which results in a credible threat to an individual, using a fake profile to specifically target an individual for harassment, stalking, revenge porn or coercion; cases which result in breaching a pre existing court order.

Sorry, I shall lock up the inner geek and crack on.

Again we have a misunderstanding and only half the story. The use of fake online profiles to carry out acts of harassment, trolling etc is being discussed.
