Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Yes, I'm shouting it - SHOES!

I've found out there is a shoe museum in Somerset, just up the road from where I will be going on holiday.

I'm so excited.

If it's as exciting as the Pen museum or as informative as the Pencil museum I will a happy bunny.

This thread is now open to discuss shoes and/or quirky museums we should visit.

Shoes so would love some new pairs of heels and some high boots. Think its time for saving again for a shopping spree.

I love shoes

I have way too many but need more. My favourite are a pair of calf leather docs which have the softest, smoothest leather actually inside the boot. They are inset with British silk (I didn't know this even was a thing) and are just spectacular. I bought them off someone who was actually too scared to wear them because they were too expensive. Silly man.

And that's just one pair of my shoes. And I haven't even started on what I think of some ladies' shoes

Good man! Silk lined shoes sound divine.

I did buy a pair of cheap red shoes today, just because I have been craving red shoes. I also want a pair of blue shoes. I need to replace my patent leather kitten heels as the leather has cracked beyond repair. I want...

Yes! I made a trip of it last year going to the Pen Museum in Birmingham and then on to the Pencil Museum in Cumbria. I know how to have fun.

I haven't been to the bobbin mill there but I did go to the Cotton Mill at Belper. It has UNESCO heritage status.

Not silk lined: they are fully lined with the smooth leather normally on the outside of shoes/boots, but have panels on the outside inset with blue silk!

I love shoes. I've tried not to buy any because I really do have too many and storage is a problem.

But i keep seeing gorgeous shoes and I have to buy them. I made a pact that after the Hunter wellies I wouldn't buy any more.

I love my Tuk donut shoes but at present I am trying not to think about the new Irregular Choice Alice in Wonderland range

Social and fucking! That will need about 6 pairs of shoes, which means taking at least 9 choices.

I wore the new red shoes today with my lovely culottes. Simple things.

I need help to liberate two pairs of shoes from the Shoe Museum.

It's small but utterly lovely. A little slice of social and industrial history in shoe form.

It reminded me of the Jam Museum in some respects. Although it didn't have cakes and jam to finish off the visit.
