Well looks like there are changes afoot with benefits and pensions.

Would the chancellor be better off just offering euthanasia to peeps and being honest and saying this country values you while you are young and fit nows the time to save some money?

But euthenasia is a way to help sick people die when they want to & they can't commit the act themselves. How is that connected to pension changes?

Yep. Probably get rid of the over 40's. Leave the money for the young 'uns. No need to pay pensions, the country would be mega rich.

I think if you're young, fit and earning more than you need to live a basic life then it's wise to put money away from the day you start work. How on earth hard pressed men and women earning minimum wage, running a home and bringing up children will do it I have no idea not to mention the sick, the long term unemployed etc.

Well the thought of working while 70 plus is frightening and a pill offered by the gov might be more humane. Particularly for low paid workers. The sick and the unemployed perhaps for them too the struggle for survival on reduced income may be too much.

On the plus side they aren't gonna implement more cuts to housing benefit for the disabled, well they still want to but are looking into how the cuts affect people. yay for campaigning.

In other news- MPs' salaries are to rise from £67,060 to £74,000, or just under £7,000, the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority has announced.

In an interview with ITV News, David Cameron confirmed he will take the 10% pay rise, saying "personally, the right thing to do is to be paid the rate for the job".

The right thing to do, fucking hypocrite wanker.

If you google you can find stories about people committing suicide, or dying, after their disability money was cut or stopped.

I can post a BBC link, this stuff is reported but not made a fuss of. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-34074557

Affectionate thanks for the links.

I do agree with the politician thing too. Whats surprising is most of the cuts decisions are made by millionaires and people just accept them. So tighten the fraying belts folks!

You're welcome.

People don't accept it, it's just they're in a minority the people who are proactive about fighting against these cuts.

But yes i've always thought that people with no life expereince of anything outside of their own circle are not suitable to make decisions on behalf of those who have to put up with the consequences of the same decisions.

Looking into disability benefits cuts has been blocked today. What a fucking surprise.

Don't even know why we have a house of lords, nobody listens to them.

No surprises really it was on look north (bbc) last night about waiting lists etc. I think the problem is as a nation we would rather grumble about the weather than the important things (you know what i mean).

I play the bagpipes and I am quite young for an English player living in England

The ammount of blokes that are retired and in there 70's and 80's that are learning to play or can play and started when they retired is loads

Just because someone is over 65 and a old fart doesn't mean they can't or don't want to work or even have hobbies . We have now in our area "sheds" where guys can go and do guys things

Not all old farts sit inside and make racist comments

I would welcome any idea that gives old people the chance to do things and feel a useful part of society rather than them feel they are old farts who are a burden

There are lots of skills that are not being passed down to younger generations and when you think how much these people know from their fix it and make do societies etc it's skills that are being wasted

I know some people don't want to work and do stuff which is their choice . But also some do and it's not fair that those that have worked hard and contributed to society all their lives can't get something back to stimulate their minds

Don't forget these people are the buggers that fought in the ww2 and then got on their bike and got a job . Why should they have to continue with no purpose in life

Blokes can die very quickly after retirement so in reality it's not the best thing that can happen to a bloke
