So I had a wisdom tooth removed today, in at 12 out at 12.20. So glad it's been removed as it was giving me pain. I had 4 injections in to numb the mouth and only one injection really hurt a little and now it's gone so no more pain

But so many people fear going to the dentist, so if youre one then why?

Not that I fear the dentist just dont like people fiddling around in my mouth. When it comes to extractions I heir on the side of caution. When I was 11 the anesthetic didn't work and the fucker took the tooth anyway. I need two Wisdoms removed at the moment. They've crumbled down to the gum line and are very uncomfortable. Had an extraction date all set in January under general anesthetic, like I had done with other two wisdoms but a pre op assessment scuppered that after my ECG came back abnormal. Can't live with the teeth, can't get them removed

I came out of an anesthetic early when i was younger, didn't know where i was paniced and kicked off...three nurses and the dentist held me down till mum came in room..hated them for years but now just about tolerate them...have had a couple of really good ones that have been excellent when i have told them of my feelings towards them and have reassured me...will never really be totally ok with going though.

A lot of my generation have an inbuilt fear of the dentist as when I was a kid the dentist was not the nicest of people and were quite brutal!

They used to just get on with it to get you in and out as fast as possible!

These days they seem to be a lot better but the damage is already done and is hard to put behind us.

Northampton Somewhere

My dentist is fantastic and has a great bedside manner!! Me and some of the other mums in the playground have a real giggle about our 'Lamby' time

I went in for a clean today and the only thing I hate is that tube that sprays water and sucks, but that's only due to having sensitive teeth. But they've recommended ways for me to reduce it

I thought fears would have come from childhood. I was afraid as a child, no idea why, but now I'm not. I don't know why, I think it may be due to having children and not wanting them to fear things if they don't need to.

Like the needle comment, the needle and syringe was about the size of my forearm! I probably looked shocked but allowed four of them.

A brave lady Kimi NO needle that size os coming anywhere near me!

Last time I had a problem with my teeth I landed up in hospital for 3 days, morphine for the pain and they knocked me out to repair the bad tooth.

NEVER again will I suffer in silence, the only pain that actually makes me cry.

I know, im a baby and can't stand pain, lucky I'm not a woman eh!
