I spend a lot of my day travelling and listening to music so im always keen to add new bands/singers to my spotify playlist

So this a thread where you can recommend bands/acts who you've just discovered and feel like sharing with others

Been in a bit of soulful mood recently so my first recommendation is

St Paul and the Broken Bones

on the road to nowhere in particular

If I'm feeling soulful it is Gregory Porter. If I am in a mellow mood it is Richard Hawley. These two are among the best contemporary voices around at the moment.

I never thought I would hear myself say this but Justin Biebers latest work is good.

For looking good and sounding good it has to be Fleur East. I hope she has a long and prosperous career. She also has the potential to take over from Kylie in my fantasies

Good shout on gregory porter, he's great live too

Id be tempted to throw benjamin clementine into the mix on contempory voices out there at the moment

That's one I will need to look up.

If I'm feeling more upbeat I will go for Caro Emerald. The fact that she is Dutch adds to her allure

Contempory voice..give john grant a try...latest album a bit weird to start with but grows on you.....and it has to be an exceptional woman to overtake kylie....though christina hendricks has snuck through occassionaly

"I feel like being subversive and putting up a Rufus Wainwright link "

How is that subversive?

He's a very particular artiste. Saw him at the Other Stage at G'bury some years ago and he performed with an orchestra. Someone did something *slightly* out of place and he made everyone stop and go back to the beginning.

Particular.
